1918 Ford Model T with an aftermarket wooden pickup box.

When I bought this car I was told that it was an Al Kaly Shriners parade car that had not been used in years as the owner had died. It had Missouri plates on it.

It is titled as a 1918 but I believe the motor is from a newer model as it has a spot to mount a generator, although there is not one mounted. The car does run, but I have had to use a battery to power the coils and push start it in order to drive it. I also replaced the carb and fuel line. I have not been able to start it using the crank if the engine is cold, but it starts fine once it has been driven. I have only driven it around the block about a dozen times total but it seems to run decent.

Since I have trouble starting it I was planning to install a starter and alternator. I bought both from L.D.Decker, along with a Hogshead and pedals from a supplier listed on Ebay, and an Anderson Timer but have not had the time to take the car apart in order to install any of them. I will include them with the sale of the car.

The car is is complete, although the body is full of character. Lots of dings, dents and such. It was repainted over the dents, dings and such many years ago. This is no show car, but it is very cute as it is. The wheels and tires are in good condition. To make a nice car it would need restored, but if you are planning to use it as a parade car it gets lots of smiles as it is.

I had a guy from the local Model T club come and look at it and he tells me that it is more than likely a front section on a touring car, with the bed kit added to it. It has only one door on the curbside. The top is there and seems to work fine but needs straps to hold it to the windshield frame.

I am not interested in any trades or help selling, shipping is the resonsibility of the seller although I will be happy to help load it. I would like a $500.00 deposit through paypal and the balance to be paid by wire transfer or certified funds before the vehicle ships. I will only sell to the lower 48 states.

Bosch fined $57.8 million by DOJ for price fixing and bid rigging

The US Department of Justice has been investigating bid rigging and price fixing among automotive parts suppliers for years, and so far the agency has leveled nearly $2.5 billion in fines against 34 companies. The latest business to be caught in this ongoing crackdown is Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH (Bosch), the world's largest independent auto component maker, and it agrees to pay a $57.8 million criminal fine to the Feds. According to the DOJ, Bosch has agreed to plead guilty to pricing fixing and bid rigging for spark plugs and oxygen sensors supplied to the former DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors. The rigging is said to have occurred between January 2000 and July 2011. Bosch also allegedly played foul with starter motors sold to Volkswagen from January 2009 until at least June 2010. Bosch and other companies allegedly conspired on the pricing for bids to submit to automakers, and sold the parts at noncompetitive prices. The DOJ filed a one-count felony charge in US District Court for these actions. The company's plea is still subject to court approval, though. Bosch is only the third European company to be charged in this investigation, according to the DOJ. So far, many of the fined businesses have been from Japan, including Takata, NGK and others. Some execs have claimed price-fixing has been the standard operating procedure in the auto parts industry for a long time. Ken Block proves the new Ford Focus RS can handle that Gymkhana thing

Oh Ford, you've already done a lot for us today, introducing the bound-for-America Focus RS and all. But then you go ahead and add onto this day of good news by handing a prototype of the new all-wheel-drive rocket to drift maestro Ken Block and capture it all on video. Block does his usual, slipping and sliding and drifting the over-315-horsepower hot hatchback through Ford's Cologne, Germany factory, before making a final and surprising appearance at the unveiling of the new RS to European media. It's all as entertaining as it sounds, and gives us plenty of chances to hear the 2.3-liter EcoBoost at full bellow. Related Video:
