1929 Model A Roadster, 50's Built Hot Rod, No Reserve!!! on 2040-cars
Canby, Oregon, United States
This an original Portland built roadster. Purchased by the last owner in the early 60's, it was a running driving car at that time. Unfortunately no one in the family remembers what engine it had nor anything else about it. It has sat untouched for 50 plus years. The car is heavily channeled over a very modified frame. Definitely a well done car, it may have some show history. It also has a Carson type lift off top made by the Portland Top Company. It is in poor condition but could be recovered. The rear wood bows have spread at one end but could be steamed back into shape, has a great tag on it still. set up for a saddle mount sbc. original 32 grille shell and insert that has been expertly chopped.
Front axle is dropped and drilled, 4 bar suspension. Rear suspension is unknown, I have a 9 inch strapped in to roll it but I think it may have been set up for independent. Has a very nice roll bar setup, not just for looks. needs some repair behind the doors, right rear fender well has some minor rust. 32 dash that has been filled, recessed firewall. Set up for nerf bars front and rear. I set a 32 closed car windshield on it just so you get an idea of how it might look, the windshield posts have been chopped and it would take a 10 inch tall windshield, the 32 windshield is not included. This could be a fantastic car. I have included a pic of Tweety Bird, a 32 that looks similar in style. There is no title, bill of sale only. Bid to own, no reserve. I have a 56 265 with very low miles for an additional $400. I can store the car for a couple months, it steers by moving the front wheels by hand, rolls easily. |

2014 Ford Mustang GT
Fri, 17 May 2013I was more than a year removed from my last experience with the Mustang GT and its delicious 5.0 V8 when this new 2014 example rolled up to my driveway recently. Good weather and a planned road trip across the state meant that I would get plenty of seat time in this conservatively specified example, too. In total, I logged about 400 miles in a week of driving - not a lot for some of you super commuters out there, but quite a lot for this work-from-home journalist.
The basic formula of the 5.0 has stayed the same for 2014. The 2013 model year saw a number of updates to keep the Mustang fresh until it's replaced with an all-new generation for 2015. So, for its bon voyage tour, the fifth-generation Pony Car has seen only a few modifications: a couple of new paint colors (Oxford White and Ruby Read Metallic), trim and wheel revisions and, sadly, the deletion of the Boss 302 from the Ford lineup. However, while the limited-edition Boss is likely to reappear sometime after the gen-six Mustang makes its debut in 2015, the GT Track Package cars like the one I tested provide at least a partial solution for those looking for hot laps.

Hertz goes Dutch with Ford Focus ST-H
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Want to take a performance car for a ride? Hertz can make that happen. Spin by your local rental location (depending, of course, on availability) and you can take out a Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, even a Corvette as part of the Adrenaline Collection. Hertz's Dream Cars lineup even includes Porsches and AMGs. But the really interesting stuff is what you can't get anywhere else: cars built specifically for Hertz.
Back in 1966, Hertz had Ford cook up a special run of Mustang GT350H models in back with gold stripes. It became an icon in and of itself, and in 2008 Hertz had a new batch of Shelby GT-Hs made. Earlier this year, Hertz contracted Penske to deliver another fleet of specially-built Mustangs you can rent. But if your travel plans include a trip to the Netherlands, Hertz has a completely different type of specially-prepared Ford on offer for you.
Back in August, Ford delivered a couple of Focus STs made specifically for Hertz in Holland. Now it's expanded that fleet even further. The Ford Focus ST-H features the same 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four (and everything else) as the standard Focus ST, but gets that signature black exterior with gold stripes and a black leather interior with Recaro buckets. So in case a trip to Amsterdam doesn't hold enough thrills, now you can throw a hot hatch into the mix as well. Scope out the press release (in Dutch - isn't that weird?) below.
RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.
