Up for bids is this clean old 1965 ford falcon 2 door hard top. This is a neat old car. These hardtops are getting hard to find. It is a futura. It has a 289 engine in it with a 4 speed top loader transmission and a 9 inch rear end. It did not start out this way but someone made it like they wanted it. It was originally a T code 6 cylinder car. Everything was converted over including the front suspension so all the 6 cylinder stuff is gone. It looks like it had alot of spunk back in its day. It was sat up in the early 90's awaiting a restoration and well you know the so familiar story it never happened. The gentleman I got it from said This was a big 9 inch rear end and a top loader 4 speed out of another later 60's model mustang. He said it had some power at the red light. The body is in good shape considering its age and looks to be original sheetmetal. The body as a whole would need some work but it wouldn't take much to get it ready to repaint. It has a few small spots that will need a little work. This is not a bondo buggy either it looks to be pretty solid. The bottom of the drivers fender will need a little work. All the glass is good except for the windshield and I have another good one to go with it. The interior is all there just needs restoring. The floors look okay. I see a few small holes in the rear ones but I think they could be fixed as is without having to change them out. Thats just my opinion someone thats wants something perfect would probably want them changed out. The truck floor is the same way has a few small spots but nothing to big. The frame, torque boxes, and engine bay are all solid. Overall this is a solid car. The motor will turn over by hand. I have not tried to crank it. It will need the fuel system cleaned, brake work, and whatever else before it is ready to go. It was running when it was sat up. It will most likely run still but will take some work and effort to do so. I have a clear title to it. It is located in Jonesboro Louisiana. I will accept cash in person, certitfied bank check, or bank wire transfer as payment for the car. Ford adds 850 jobs to build 2015 F-150

Pickup trucks tend not to advance at quite the same pace as the rest of the industry. That's what makes the new Ford F-150 so remarkable, jettisoning its old steel construction in favor of aluminum. It's a game changer that Ford is betting big on, and in anticipation of surging demand, the Blue Oval automaker is adding 850 new jobs to put the thing together.
Those 850 new employees will be centered at Ford's Rouge complex in Michigan - with 300 at Dearborn Stamping, 50 more at Dearborn Diversified and 500 at the Dearborn Truck facility, the latter of which has already kicked off what Ford describes as "the largest manufacturing transformation in decades." Old manufacturing equipment is being replaced with the latest technologies, and even the Ford Rouge Factory Tour is undergoing a complete overhaul.
The new jobs come as part of the commitments Ford made to the UAW in 2011 to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the United States by 2015 - a number which Ford has already exceeded at 14,000. Over 4,000 of those are centered in southeastern Michigan.

Ford CEO told Trump 1 million jobs at stake because of fuel economy regs

Bloomberg is reporting that Mark Fields, Ford's CEO, pushed President Donald Trump for market-driven national fuel economy standards, and that up to a million jobs could be at stake if those national regulations didn't take consumer expectations into account. Fields was reporting on his conversation with Trump in remarks made at the National Automobile Dealers Association in New Orleans, Bloomberg reports. The report also states that he and fellow CEOs Mary Barra of GM and Sergio Marchionne of FCA aren't seeking to eliminate fuel economy standards altogether, but rather to make them more flexible. Bloomberg reports that Fields didn't cite the studies he was referring to in support of his job loss figures, so we can't independently verify Fields' math at this time. But his push to stop selling cars consumers don't want – that is to say, more hybrids and EVs than consumer demand supports right now Â– is clear. We've already reported on that. To level an educated guess at what will happen next, Trump seems likely to reduce the stringent 2025 fuel economy targets, perhaps freezing them at current levels. The automakers are already invested in producing vehicles that meet current standards, and they also have to think about foreign markets like Europe that aren't likely to relax standards below current levels. If you consider economies of scale, automakers are likely to ask for federal standards that match global standards for their largest markets as closely as possible. We'll see if Trump buys Fields' math, but Ford isn't hedging its bets. Backing out of the Mexican assembly plant cost the company $200 million Â– not a huge sum compared to the total value of Ford, a massive company which had its second best year ever, but still an important gesture to Trump about Ford's priorities. Inside the Ford GT's interior

Ford has crafted a simple yet high-tech interior for the GT supercar, which has been on display at auto shows around the world this year. The instrument panel has a two-tier design with a floating wing. There are soft-touch materials and carbon fiber, which also is used for the passenger cell. Still, the GT's interior has been shrouded in more mystery than the rest of the car. To cast some light on the GT's cabin, we caught up with Ford design vice president Moray Callum, who explained the ins and outs of the future icon's interior. Put simply, "there's not a lot of excess materials," Callum said. But what is there is pretty cool. In case you haven't heard, Ford plans to launch the GT in 2016. It will run a mid-mounted twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and make extensive use of carbon fiber for the body structure. Related Video:
