You are looking at a restored 1961 Ford Falcon 2 door sedan. This car has been mechanically and costmetically restored by the owner. The owner is a very good friend of mine, I am helping him sell it, he has no computer skills. He has owned this car for almost 40 years, he bought it when he was 15, it was his first car. Over the years, it has been built into an incredible muscle car. It looks, runs, and drives mint! Here is a list of what has been done to the car:
Engine:
302 Windsor engine, completely re-built by local machine shop, bored .30 over to 306 cubic inches. Crankshaft was cut, chamfered, polished, and rotating assembly was fully ballanced! TRW forged pistons, 10:1 compression ratio, runs on pump gas. Chrome moly rings, Lunati hydraulic cam and lifters, High volume oil pump, Adjustable rockers, 351 Windsor heads, completely re-built, ported and polished, three angle valve job, Manley valves, screw in studs with guide plates, hardened push rods, double roller timing chain. Edelbrock Torquer intake manifold, 600 Holley dual feed, double pumper, Mallory ignition, Accell electronic distributor, 351 exhaust manifolds (jet hot coated), custom dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. Everything on the engine is proffesionally powdercoated, and it looks awesome. You could eat off of this motor. The motor has about 5000 miles on it since it was re-built and installed in the car. It runs awesome!
Drivetrain:
4 speed manual transmission, completely rebuilt, all steel bellhousing, 11 1/2" high performance clutch and flywheel, completely re-built 3:55 ratio, limited slip rear axle.
Misc:
Converted to 1 wire chrome alternator, battery was re-located to trunk, has new 3 core heavy duty radiator with electric fans, new Edelbrock aluminum water pump, has dual master cylinder with all new re-built drum brakes front and rear. Drive shaft has high performance u-joints and was speed ballanced. All 4 tires are new, high performance radials.
Suspension:
Completely re-done with all new ball joints, all new control arm bushings, heavy duty coil springs, heavy duty leaf springs, all new shocks!
Interior:
The owner spent over $5000 and had the interior completely re-finished by Top Stitch Upholstery Inc. They did all new seats, door panels, kick panels, carpets, headliner, everything. The dash board and the tops of the doors were all re-painted in basecoat clearcoat, and look better than new. The floor pans were coated in bedliner spray, and look perfect under the carpets.
Body:
The owner of this car owns a body shop and has been painting cars since he was a teenager. This car was stripped down to bare metal and completely re-finished. The body is laser straight, and looks better than new. The paint is DuPont basecoat/ clearcoat and it looks awesome. The color is called Corinthian White. I could not find one flaw in it, and it shines like new. It has color coded bumpers, and grille. The tail lights, door handles, emblems, were powdercoated also.
This car is a turn-key muscle car that is ready for somone to drive and enjoy. I drove it myself, and it runs and drives amazing. It rides great, and has plenty of power for such a light car. It is lots of fun! It hits the road great, and sounds good too. It's not too loud with the turbo mufflers, but it has a nice rumble! It needs nothing! I would be happy to show anyone the car, please e-mail me and we will set it up.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting
Tue, 13 May 2014It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
