Vehicle has been garage kept since 1978, it has a full frame of 2"x4" 1/8" wall tubular steel. The floor has been replaces with 12ga steel, custom made and bent with trans tunnel. 8 Point steel roll cage installed so that factory seats can be utilized. With original trans tunnel console. Rear end shortened so it uses 2 short original axles. Rear wheel well tubs can accommodate 14" wide slicks at stock height. Two engines, a stock 390 from a truck and a 428 that has been bored .030" over, complete except missing crank. Also included is an early 60's original Ford factory aluminum tri-power intake with original carbs that have never had gas in them. Heads have SCJ intake/exhaust valves, adjustable rockers, aluminum valve covers. Included is a C6 as well as T4 top loader transmissions. The Ford
fiberglass hood is from a 1966 Comet with dual hood scoops, modified
slightly ront edge as the Comet had straight edge while the Fairlane
tapers back - simple mod and it looks great. Original 32k'ish miles on speedometer with black interior (head liner needs replacement), but have essentially all new chrome and trim strips through-out. No front/rear bumpers. Engine compartment has original shock towers. There is a very little bit of rust focused around the rear wheel wells, the majority of the body is solid steel, plus the fact that the entire floor has been replaced with 16ga steel when the frame went in. It's original intension was to be a sleeper street/strip car, this vehicle is complete with all components and once completed will make a fantastic car! |

J Mays on the 2015 Ford Mustang
Thu, 05 Dec 2013J Mays, head of design at Ford, may be retiring from the company after 16 years, but not before showing the world his swan song: the 2015 Mustang. Ford officially revealed its new coupe and convertible to the public at events around the world on Thursday, including a live unveiling on ABC's Good Morning America, and Mays was in attendance at the automaker's home event in Dearborn, MI, which is where we caught up with him for a few words about his new baby.
"It's a joy" to design the Mustang, Mays told Autoblog, adding that this sixth-generation coupe is his "favorite design so far." Of course, the 2015 model takes cues from all of the generations that came before it, but Mays said it was important to edit down the specific elements from previous models, leaving just enough off to let the customer "participate and fill in the blanks."
"If it doesn't sell itself, you probably aren't a Mustang fan."
Here's more of the Ford GT soundtrack
Mon, Aug 3 2015You probably won't be surprised to find out that that while we outsiders were speculating on the racing plans for the new Ford GT, the automaker was already testing the American exotic on track. Ford Performance has just posted some footage from one of those tests and it's worth a watch. In spite of that early exhaust promo and Xcar's two in-depth videos on the racer and the road-going coupe, this is the first time we've been treated to sustained looks at the track version just laying in laps and roaring by. Now that we know Ford's plans include running four cars throughout the 2016 season, the early testing makes sense. Ford will have two cars running in the GTE-Pro class in the Tudor United Sports Car Championship and another two in the same class in the FIA World Endurance Championship, all of them campaigned by Chip Ganassi Racing with the Felix Sabates team. Then the company plans to have all four cars at Le Mans, which will be Chip Ganassi's first ever tilt at the French event. If you want some practice picking out exhaust notes come 2016, check out the video above. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue
Tue, 28 May 2013We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
