I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND IT HAS DONE ITS JOB NOT LETTING ME DOWN ONCE. WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK I STARTED MAKING IT LIKE A NEW ONE REPLACING ANYTHING THAT REMOTELY LOOKED WORN. HERE IS A LIST OF NEW PARTS THAT I HAVE INSTALLED AND EVERYTHING WAS NEW NOT REBUILT: MOOG UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, MOOG TIE ROD ENDS AND DRAG LINKS, FRONT AND REAR BRAKES, NEW BCA WHELL BEARINGS, CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL, WINCH WITH CORDLESS REMOTE, MAP SENSOR, FUEL HEATER, GLOW PLUG RELAY,[THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD JUST PUT NEW GLOW PLUGS AND VALVE COVER GASKET WITH WIRING HARNESS] [ IT HAS A WORKING BLOCK HEATER BUT YOU DON'T NEED IT. GREAT COLD WEATHER START UPS. I LIVE IN THE HIGHER EVALATION NEAR SNOWSHOE WV. FIRST GLOW EVERYTIME], 4 NEW MICHELLINS AND 2 AT HALF LIFE LEFT, CHANGED OUT ALL THE FLUIDS, I ALSO PULLED OFF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND HAD THEM RESURFACED AND PUT BACK WITH NEW BOLTS. THIS IS A GREAT DEPENDABLED TRUCK READY FOR SOME USE. THE REASONS FOR ME SELLING IS MY TIME IS NEEDED AT ME AND THE OLD MANS SHOP. I WAS HOPING I COULD TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS BUT HE LOVES HIS TRUCK AND LOW BOY EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN GET 14-16 MILES TO THE GALLON DEPENDING WHERE YOU AT AND HOW YOU DRIVE IT. EASY TO GET A TICKET IN IF YOU HAVE A HEAVY FOOT.

Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.
Ford Escort returns... as a concept
Sat, 20 Apr 2013Ford is kickin' it old school at the Shanghai Motor Show for 2013 with a new Escort Concept - "a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design" as we said in our initial preview of the small C-segment sedan. Or, as Ford puts it, "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Potato, potahto...
It's an interesting amalgam of design notes with Ford's recent and stylish hexagonal grille up front, flanked by some pretty busy LED light clusters and chrome-trimmed air intakes at the lower extremities of the fascia, but the Escort Concept is not altogether unattractive. Besides its external appearance, we really don't have much information to report - Ford has not yet hinted at what may be powering this little machine, but we'd expect something with four cylinders and less that 2.0 liters of displacement sending a modest number of horses to the front tires.
It probably goes without saying, but we don't expect to see this Escort make its way to the United States, since we already have the Focus and the Fiesta battling it out in the econobox segment. That said, it's very likely to spawn a production model that will roll out here in China and in other developing market where multiple C-segment entries are becoming increasingly common. Here's what it's like to drive the very first Ford Mustang cop car
Thu, Jan 29 2015As we recently discovered, there's something different about driving a police car. That's true whether you're talking about a modern Dodge Charger Pursuit or, yes, the legendary Ford Mustang SSP. Former Autoblog staffer and current Road and Track web editor Zach Bowman discovered this when he shanghaied a 2015 Mustang GT and made the trip to Nashville, TN to drive the very first Mustang SSP police car. The two-tone, V8-powered prototype was delivered into the welcoming arms of the California Highway Patrol back in 1981 for evaluation. Bowman chatted up cop-car aficionado Mike Strinich, the prototype's current owner, and managed to score some seat time in the car, which provided a unique interesting contrast to the SSP's 435-horsepower junior. Head over to R&T for the complete read.
