I bought the vehicle from its original owner whos had it since the day it came from the factory. He had only driven it around town and his yard beings he had 12 acres. The truck had been sitting for 3 years when i had went and looked at it, he had started it everyday and kept up to par on its service oil change etc. i bought it for 1500 and have since then put about 3,000$ into it. that includes 2 new batteries 75 amp alternater had the heads cleaned up and new components installed, thicker head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket and oil cooler gaskets. Oil cooler replaced, 1 new injector and injector line, new injector installation kit, 3 top cog gold series v-belts, double pulley power steering pulley, Brand new water pump and thermostat, thermostat gasket, New fuel tank sending unit( both tanks work) new wheel cylinders wheel seals and Timken wheel bearings in the rear. The diff has been inspected and new royal purple gear oil, brand new brake shoes in rear and drums where resurfaced new brake hardware kits also. The truck has a Borg-Warner T-19 4 speed manuel trans with a newly installed NP-205 which has been inspected as well, custom made drive shaft with new u-joints, Manuel locking hubs 4 wheel drive does work, radiator flush by ford new upper and lower radiator hoses, new air filter, electric fans for cooling on a toggle switch. New radiator cap and oil filler cap, new front brake pads and hardware kits and rotors resurfaced as well, brand new starter, brand new blower motor and wheel, tanks were cleaned, Transmission had been flushed, 100,000 miles ago new master cylinder and brakes flushed new fluid installed, New wiper blades and wiper blade motor, Newer dash pad and door panels, the floor pans are in excellent condition, factory tinted rear window installed and all windows tinted new rear view mirrors (not on truck due to body work) kicker speakers and alpine 6 disc radio with remote the clutch is still very good, custom mossy oak headliner, has aftermarket oil/coolant/volts meters and then gauge pillar with EGT gauge, Trans temp gauge, and boost gauge which is hooked up but reads only sometimes i had installed it due to was going to turbo the truck. Truck had a stack on it but no longer does. The injector pump has been tuned up and works just fine, oil changed regularly and i run AMS oil 15w40 with an K&N 7.3 powerstroke oil filter oil was just changed and has an approx of 900 miles on it. The truck did have factory A/C in it which did work but i have gotten rid of it but you can always reinstall it if youd like, the truck has a lot of new parts on it and runs like a monster i drive it everyday and no problems, the seat isnt in the best shape but its normal wear and tear, im willing to work on the price with you if you dont try to beat me out of what i have into it and im offering to buy the ball joints and u-joints and align the truck if you make me a good offer and with a deposit down iv been a diesel mechanic for the military, and still am a certified tech to this day and have seen what they are going for in worse shape then mine, i will tell you the glow plugs do work fine they have all been tested but the solenoid is starting to act up here and there, i will also add the truck has an electric fuel pump installed i have had the oil pan off and to do the gasket and the eccentric for the mechanical lift pump was worn and could not find a new one to replace it so i bought a new mechanical pump and installed it but it does not work just there to keep the oil in, and electric pump works way better on these motors and gets better fuel milage also. I drive the truck to work everyday i work 30 minutes from home and have to fill it up once every two weeks, its average is about 26 miles per gallon highway and 22-23 city which is awesome, i also just had moved to florida from new jersey and drove the truck down i filled up 3 times only cost me 175$ so if your looking for good fuel economy in an older diesel truck you have found it i love the truck to death but its time for a new toy. I have extra parts for it including the original front drive shaft the old transfer case ( was rebuilding) so in pieces and a couple other parts for it i have an aftermarket tach for it and a tailgate which is not in bad shape, just not on the truck because it is newer mounting brackets and havent had time to buy and weld them on, the truck has the heavier duty springs in front and back and has the dana 61 full-float rear and the dana 50 IFS front axle the truck has 3.55s and factory posi thanks for looking!

Lewis Hamilton owns 15 cars, uses tow trucks to keep the mileage low
Thu, Aug 2 2018No matter how you feel about Lewis Hamilton off the track, it's impossible not to respect his talent behind the wheel. Currently, Hamilton is the second most successful Formula One driver of all time. His 67 wins and four championships place him only behind Michael Schumacher's 91 wins and seven championships. With all those winnings, Hamilton has racked up a decent personal fortune, much of which he uses to buy cars. Except he doesn't drive them quite as much as you might think. According to The Sunday Times, Hamilton's net worth of just over $207 million makes him one of the richest sports figures in the UK, just behind David Beckham. In a recent interview with the British newspaper, Hamilton gave some details on his personal car collection. His first car was a used Mini Cooper, soon followed by a Mercedes-Benz C200. Both have long since been replaced by a pair of original Shelby Cobras, a 1967 Shelby GT500, a Ferrari 599 SA Aperta, two LaFerraris (a red coupe and a white Aperta), a McLaren P1 and a Pagani Zonda 760 equipped with a manual transmission. All in, Hamilton has about 15 cars split between homes in Monaco and Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, he has a Mercedes-AMG Project One ( a car that shares more than a little with his F1 W09 EQ Power+ race car) on the way. Hamilton has some hot takes on his personal collection. "The Zonda is terrible to drive," he said. "It's the best-sounding car I own, but handling-wise it's the worst. I got it in manual because I didn't like the tiptronic version. The tiptronic Pagani offered was worse than the Smart Roadster I had." He also says his Shelby Mustang is a "beautiful car, but a heap of junk." In order to keep the miles down (and valuations up), Hamilton apparently has a tow truck on retainer in Los Angeles. When he's finished driving one of his Ferraris, he'll have the car towed back to his place. Classic cars are becoming a solid and serious investment, and Hamilton doesn't want to squander his wealth like some other athletes. That said, there are a couple more cars Hamilton would love to own, including a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (the one with the gullwing doors) and a Ferrari 250GT California Spyder (the one from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"). Ford recalls 277,000 Super Duty trucks over foggy rear-view camera
Thu, Sep 1 2022Ford has issued a recall that applies to around 277,000 units of the Super Duty pickup built between the 2017 and 2020 model years. The campaign also includes about 13,000 units of the Lincoln Continental, and it aims to fix an issue that makes the rear-view camera foggy. Assigned recall number 22V-644 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall includes 139,131 units of the F-250, 109,960 units of the F-350, 14,830 units of the F-450, and 13,119 units of the Continental. The affected trucks are all fitted with the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera system and were built between November 12, 2015, and March 10, 2020, while the affected Lincoln models are equipped with the 360-degree camera and were made from November 30, 2015 to March 10, 2020. Ford explains "degradation of the coating on an internal rear-view camera lens can lead to a progressively foggy or cloudy image." It adds ultraviolet radiation causes the problem and that this issue increases the risk of an accident, though it's not aware of accidents or injuries. Owners of affected cars and trucks who have already paid to get the issue fixed have until September 30, 2022, to ask Ford for a refund. The company will begin notifying customers about the recall by mail on September 12, 2022, and it will ask them to take their vehicle to the nearest authorized dealer to get the rear-view camera replaced free of charge. Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.
