I purchased this vehicle new in 05 and since then it has been my baby.  I started with an 8" Fabtech lift with 20" Jesse James wheels, and 37x13.50 tires.  Then I had 3 10" subwoofers tucked nicely behind the seat with a Rockford P5002 amp to power them.  I had all the components changed out and plugged it into a Pioneer touch screen 6 disc in dash DVD player.  There is Bluetooth, Sirius and IPOD all connected in nicely behind the dash.  When the vehicle is put into reverse the screen changes to a backup camera.  I had an alarm/remote start installed and then was the amp research electric steps.

For the motor I added an Airaid intake, 4" downpipe to 5" exhaust with an 8" tip. I added a Edge Juice w/ Attitude with the hot setting unlocked and it came to life.  It came to life enough that I had to put traction bars under it to keep everything rolling smoothly.

I blew the head gaskets when it was new and again around 76000 miles.  the last time they went through it they changed the turbo and EGR then did the upgraded head gaskets and studs.  It seem good now.  It has never left me stranded and its been a great vehicle for me.

I moved to North Dakota in the winter of 2010 and had to have the FICM and injectors replaced.  The shop I took it to was nice enough to put fords new emissions program on it.  It dropped me from 17mpg to 12mpg.  I recently went through ficmrepair.com to get the FICM built up and was informed that this truck needs a bigger alternator to run the stereo.  When he had the FICM he dropped in the Atlas 40 program from Go Power Hungry.com and it improved my milage to 15mpg.  The Atlas 40 program needs to be put in the ecm now and it should exceed 17mpg again.  Its only $175 to get it done just haven't had the time.  Since moving to the oilfield this truck has seen some nasty roads in the winter and its starting to have spotty rust on the frame and springs.  I try to keep it clean but it is next to impossible in this area. The truck currently has 35x12.50 tires on it.  thought they would do better in the snow and ice.  I had them sipped and now they do great.  Its about due for some new tires.

There are a few small dents in the body and the paint is chipped.  Far from good, but good from far.  I added the fender flares to try to help the paint but never did get a chance to get them painted.  My daughter grew up in this truck so there are stains in the interior.  It needs a good cleaning.  I tried to give it a quick wash for the pictures.  Also the passenger side ladder bar needs to have inserts welded in it.  It stripped last year and haven't gotten it fixed yet.

The pickup is currently in Williston, ND as I am working my hitch right now.  I will be going back to the west side of Montana on the 25th so I will be leaving it here for its new owner.

Any questions feel free to call or email.

2015 Ford Mustang [w/videos]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It'd be unwise to bet against the sixth generation of this legendary nameplate.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is assuredly the most anticipated new vehicle of the year. The redesigned Pony Car has been the subject of frantic gossiping and covert spy photos covering everything from the way it looks to the tech it will include, its performance, mechanicals and a bevy of other aspects of Ford's performance icon.

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.

From CrabWalks at dawn to post-testing sushi: An inside look at Autoblog’s Tech of the Year Award

Thu, Dec 1 2022

TROY, Mich. — On a chilly fall morning, Senior Editor John Snyder rolled into a sleepy suburban park tucked away next to a cemetery a few miles north of Detroit. Driving diagonally — CrabWalking — in the GMC Hummer EV, he made quite the entrance as he maneuvered across the parking lot to the bemusement of Autoblog editors and a few curious park-goers up for their early morning runs.  Snyder got everyoneÂ’s attention, and as we evaluate the latest wave of technologies transforming the automotive industry, pizazz matters. We added "wow factor" to our criteria for the 2022 Autoblog Technology of the Year Award, in keeping with the times. The HummerÂ’s CrabWalk feature might have won, had wowness been the only criteria, but we also scored the technologies on significance and how well they work.  As it was, the Hummer finished a competitive second this year, behind FordÂ’s Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch, which make towing and hauling easier for modern truck owners. The Genesis GV60Â’s Biometrics was within striking distance in third place, bringing the facial recognition and fingerprint tech commonly used in phones to your car. For more on FordÂ’s win — its second straight Autoblog Technology of the Year Award — read Road Test Editor Zac PalmerÂ’s complete recap. Many have asked: Why do Tech of the Year? For Autoblog, itÂ’s been a point of pride for nearly a decade. In the early days it was a way to differentiate ourselves from print magazines, some of which have been giving out car of the year awards since the early days of the Cold War. With Tech of the Year, we seek to highlight the ways experiencing a vehicle is changing. It was true in 2013 and resonates even more as we head into 2023. Cars and transportation have changed more in the past decade than in arguably the previous four. At its most basic experience, driving a 1985 Buick LeSabre with a decent radio and comfy interior was not all that different from driving a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. Just a few years later, many cars had touchscreens, the internet and some means of driver assistance. Ford joins Tesla as the only two-time winner of Tech of the Year. The Blue Oval captured the award last year for its Pro Power Onboard generator. Tesla won in 2014 for its Supercharger network, and the Model S won in 2016, when we briefly gave out a “technology car” of the year award, in addition to honoring a particular feature.
