This thing turns heads everywhere and is a hit with the ladies (for the prospective single male buyers--or ladies too, if thats your thing). -------------- !!!! STILL UNDER WARRANTY !!!!! ------------------ This is privately-owned and from original owner. Almost new condition, barring a couple nicks in the paint from road debris, but its so minor that youd have to hunt to find them--Id say its in 98% of original, new condition. Low miles due to storage while deployed. Everything else runs just like the day it was bought. Clean title, no lienholder so sale should be a simple transfer of title. Has an upgraded stereo, upgraded lighting, AEM cold-air intake (which did bump up the MPGs about 1mpg all-around), and Line-X bedliner. Black Ops features: - 32 KM2 mud Terrain Tires - 20 Stealth Black Ops wheels - 6 Pro-Comp suspension lift - Heavy Duty Pro-Comp performance shocks w/ black boots - 3 tubular black powder-coated bullbar with mounted, KC off-road lights - black powder-coated, wheel-to-wheel, step bar with 3, step platforms - black powder-coated exhaust tips - black ops badging in the headrests and reverse flag badges (as worn per U.S. uniform regulation) in the seats - AMP Dual-intake hood - includes reverse camera (which wasnt a listable option with ebay) with collision sensor and warning system Other updates: The upgraded headlamps and brake lights can be seen in the images and include HID lamp replacements for factory halogen lamps and day-time running lights, has a fluorescent tube that lights when the lights are manually engaged to night-time mode; the fog lamps have been upgraded to LED from the factory halogen bulbs. The upgraded stereo: - using Infinity Kappa 682.11cf speaker mains and JL Audio custom sub & box - discrete JL Audio amps for dual amplication; 750 watts for the subwoofer and 600 watts across 4 channels for the main speakers for a combined total of 1,350 watts - amp load boundary (frequency limit when the subwoofer/main speakers exchange control of processing sound signal between the two amps) can be manually changed - remote-control dial knob, installed on the driver side, for the subwoofer to accommodate different applications and preserve the life of the stereo system in case a song with too much load plays - the entire system is run through an LCQ-1 8-channel equalizer that allows custom, discrete EQ settings for high-, mid-, and low-frequency ranges allowing a really dynamic sound profile, I have it set up to run with clear mids & highs with a dash of punch in the sub-range - factory SYNC voice-command features have all been retained. This vehicle did not include the in-dash navigation but did include 6-disc changer with XM Satellite receiver. - wont win any sound competitions but it sounds great, a lot better than your factory premium sound packages--thats for sure!! This vehicle is still under warranty through AUG2018 with all documentation for the FoMoCos premium care package. If registered in TX, the vanity plates are paid through 2024.

Ford taken to task by gov't for Chicken Tax end-around
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Ford is in a bit of a pickle for importing and selling Turkey-built Transit Connect cargo vans as passenger vehicles in the US, then converting them to commercial-vehicle specification stateside in an effort to bypass a 25-percent tax imposed on vehicles imported for commercial use. Automakers are required to pay a 2.5-percent tax on imported passenger vehicles.
The Blue Oval got into trouble for this in a January ruling in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials asked Ford to stop the practice of importing the Transit Connect vehicles with passenger seats, then removing and shredding them. Now Automotive News reports that Ford is appealing the ruling. The 25-percent "Chicken Tax," as the tariff is often called, is 50 years old and was enacted as a response to a German tariff on chickens. Like Ford, Chrysler bypasses the higher tariff, but it does so in a different manner. It partially disassembles Sprinter cargo vans before shipping them to the US, then rebuilds them at a plant in South Carolina.
But the ruling against Ford's strategy states that it "serves no manufacturing or commercial purpose" and is there to "manipulate the tariff schedule," Automotive News reports. As Ford's appeal goes through, it is importing the Transit Connect and paying the higher tax, hoping for a favorable outcome and planning to build the next-generation Transit Connect, which it plans to launch before the end of the year, in Spain.
Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.
