1985 Superior Cadillac Crown Sovereign Hearse on 2040-cars
Crestview, Florida, United States
|
I am in the process of acquiring a 1974 Miller-Meteor hearse and will no longer have the space to
keep my 1985 Superior Cadillac Crown Sovereign Hearse. Therefore I am offering
it here at auction. I have over $4500 invested in this coach so please do not
send me any messages with low-ball offers because I do not need to sell this
vehicle. I can place it in storage but would like to see it go to someone who
will appreciate it. I currently drive the
coach two to three times a week with no problems however, this is a 30 year old
vehicle so there is bound to be things that will fail unexpectedly. Everything
that I could think of that needed fixing I have fixed, even things that might
not have needed it. At present I am caring
for my wife who suffered a stroke earlier in December. I have taken lots of
pictures and detailed everything there is to know about the coach in order to
not have to take time away from my wife's care to answer excessively redundant questions about the coach that have already been answered in the vehicle description. PLEASE read the
description, look at the photos, and then if you have a question that has
not been answered please forward it to me and I will try to respond to your inquiry in a timely
manner. Work completed by me to date:
New ECC (Engine Control Computer) New Spark Plugs New 6X9 Sony 3 Way Speakers New Hydraulic Hood Lifts (two) Replaced the power seat motor and repaired the power seat transmission Everything known to be wrong
with the car:
The
vehicle is located in Crestview, FL. I have the receipts for all the work done
on the vehicle along with a clean and clear title in hand. I also have the
original owner’s manual, order form from the original funeral home that owned
it, gold keys (and spare set), and a genuine GM service manual. Coach is
currently registered, insured, and tagged in Florida. IMPORTANT The
GPS unit is not included in the sale. The
subwoofers, enclosure, amps, and capacitor are not included in the sale. The
ornament hanging from the rear view mirror is not included in the sale. The
skeleton hanging from the rear door handle is not included in the sale.

V6 engines will outpace V8s for the 2015 Ford F-150
Wed, 23 Jul 2014How times have changed. Even five years ago, who would have thought the mighty V8 would be just another engine choice for buyers of the 2015 Ford F-150?
Ford is projecting about 28 percent of the next-generation trucks will have the 5.0-liter V8. That's nothing to sneeze at, but consider this: Ford figures its two EcoBoost truck engines - the new 2.7-liter V6 and the existing 3.5-liter V6 - will also each account for about 28 percent of the F-150's sales (56 percent total). That leaves only 15 percent of the pie for the 3.5-liter (non-EcoBoost) V6. The new F-150 goes on sale late this year.

UAW warns automakers: Restarting U.S. plants is 'too soon and too risky'
Fri, Apr 24 2020WASHINGTON/WARREN, Mich. — The head of the United Auto Workers union on Thursday said it was "too soon and too risky" to reopen auto plants and Michigan's economy in early May, citing insufficient scientific data and coronavirus testing to assure workplaces are safe. The warning from UAW President Rory Gamble on Thursday afternoon came as General Motors Co , Ford Motor Co and Toyota Motor Corp took new steps toward reopening North American vehicle manufacturing operations in an environment where consumer demand is uncertain and worker safety paramount. The union has said that 24 of its members have died from Covid-19, though it was unclear whether they might have become infected in the workplace. Unionized Detroit automakers and non-union German and Asian automakers have been preparing to restart U.S. vehicle making operations by early May. Companies have shifted reopening dates amid uncertainty about government stay-at-home orders. Gamble's statement appeared to derail plans by the Detroit Three to start bringing UAW workers back to vehicle manufacturing jobs on May 4. The longer the automakers cannot produce profitable U.S.-made trucks and sport utility vehicles, the longer they burn cash. The UAW leader's statement was also aimed at Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has come under pressure from conservative groups and President Donald Trump to ease coronavirus stay-at-home restrictions. "At this point in time, the UAW does not believe the scientific data is conclusive that it is safe to have our members back in the workplace. We have not done enough testing to really understand the threat our members face," Gamble said. "We strongly suggest to our companies in all sectors that an early May date is too soon and too risky to our members, their families and their communities." Gamble said the union was "happy with the auto companiesÂ’ response and cooperation on working through the health and safety protocols we will need in the workplace when it is appropriate to restart." Earlier Thursday, GM began notifying front line managers to come back to work next week to get trained on new safety protocols designed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus as workers return to plants.
Reborn Ford Escort could make its way to Europe
Fri, 26 Apr 2013The Ford Escort concept just unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show was created with the Chinese market in mind, but it's got people talking all over the world. Not purely fancy, the point of the Escort concept was to give Chinese buyers a preview of what they could expect to see in a Ford showroom in the near future. If Ford wasn't seriously considering the new Escort for other countries, a report in Auto Express indicates that the concept's reception has changed all that.
No less than the incoming chairman of Ford UK said "it could work in other places," bolstering the comments of "a senior Ford insider" who said the question of bringing the car to Europe to slot in underneath the Focus had been raised. That's a long way from anything of the kind happening, which would require Ford to figure out how to sell it for the right price and not torpedo the company reputation among Euro buyers. In any case, we'd be as intrigued as anyone if an Escort resurrection created the next 'who knew?' market segment of few-frills transportation offered by non-Asian carmakers.
