GEORGIA PEACH!!!!!

SOLID SOUTHERN V-8 SHORT BED TRUCK….PERFECT TO MAKE A STREET ROD/CRUISER!!!!

1979 FORD F-100 RANGER XLT

SHORT BED

Truck sold new in Alma, Georgia at Benton Brothers Ford.  Truck still has the dealer heavy duty rear bumper on it.  Comes with original owners manual and warranty plate (see photo).  Truck was built in the month of February of 1979 at the Norfolk, Virginia Plant.

Truck is sold with a Georgia registration and matching bill of sale.

Original 1979 Ford F100 Ranger XLT in good condition. Truck has 120,440 miles on original 302 2bbl v-8 and automatic transmission. Engine runs good, and transmission shifts well.  Dual exhausts still sound good!

Body is in great shape - body panels are straight and fit well, minor surface rust where side molding was attached. Bed is solid with minor surface rust (tailgate has several dents on top edge).  Seat cover is torn on driver’s side, carpet shows its age in places. Visors and Headliner are in good shape.  All glass is in good shape.

Truck was purchased for a father and son project….outside trim was removed and door panels (cracked a little, but wood panels very nice) taken off (they wanted to make a smooth, lowered cruiser).  That was all that had been done; truck has sat for 2 years since…driven maybe twice a month.

Dash pad has cracks in it.

Gas gauge still works well.  All headlights and blinkers work well.  Both hood hinges need to be replaced (warped/broke…typical for these when they are not oiled)

Truck was built at Norfolk, Virginia and factory color is Medium Vaquero Metallic.

This 1979 Ford Truck has numbers matching motor (302 V-8) and 3 speed automatic transmission.  The truck came with power steering and power brakes (brakes pedal soft).   It also came with A/C (does not work).  The undercarriage is in good shape, minor surface rust only.

This truck is an excellent candidate for a customized truck that needs little body work (rust of roof edges is the worst thing) and some minor mechanical work.

Please ask any questions for more information and if needed, more pictures.  This is a 35 year old truck that has never been restored.  It has very solid original sheet metal.  The paint has faded a good bit, but the truck is very straight and has great gaps (it probably has had 1 repaint).

Inspections are welcome, just give me a call or email!

Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Look for Cobb's Focus ST website to go live next month, complete with accurate specs and pricing. Until then, enjoy clicking through the gallery here. 1994 McLaren F1 LM-Specification fetches $19.8M at Monterey

Mon, Aug 19 2019

The botched sale of that World War II-era 1939 Porsche Type 64 may have somewhat overshadowed the RM Sotheby’s auction last weekend at Monterey, but the event wasnÂ’t without its highlights. Exhibit A: The one-of-two 1994 McLaren F1 LM-Specification supercar that we told you about a month ago netted a whopping $19.8 million at the RM SothebyÂ’s auction last weekend in Monterey, and an almost equally rare 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype also netted seven figures.  The F1 is one of 106 examples ever built and one of just two in LM-Specification (the LM stands for “Le Mans”). McLaren upgraded the standard F1 at the factory post-production, adding a 680-horsepower GTR engine, an extra-high downforce coachwork kit highlighted by the massive rear wing, race-spec dampers, two more radiators and so forth. It also gained a more comfortable interior and creature comforts, with an upgraded air conditioning, radio, new headlights and a different steering wheel. Finally, the exterior was given a coat of silver paint, replacing the factory blue. Four bidders spent four-and-a-half minutes trying to outbid one another for the car, which eventually went to an unidentified American private collector. Also successfully auctioned on Friday: the 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype for $7.65 million, which fell right in line with expectations of between $7 million and $9 million. It helped pave the way for the Mark IV race cars that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As a reminder, it was the first of five GT40 Roadster Prototypes ever built, with seven hardtop versions also built, and it underwent a full restoration in 1983 and a mechanical overhaul in 2003. And it sure is pretty to look at.

2013-2017 Ford Explorer recalled over rear suspension issue, again

Wed, Nov 4 2020

Ford is recalling about 375,000 Explorer SUV models built between 2013 and 2017 in North America to fix a potential defect in the rear suspension. In "North America states and provinces where corrosion is common," which we take to mean areas that experience harsh winters and heavily salted roads, "a fracture of the outboard section of the rear suspension toe link" is possible on affected vehicles. Ford says 350,000 of these models were sold in the United States and another 25,200 in Canada. This isn't the first time Explorers of this generation have been recalled for fractured toe links. Back in the summer of 2017, 1.2 million Explorer models were recalled over toe links that could fracture if subjected to "frequent full rear suspension articulation (jounce and rebound)." A little over a year earlier, 75,000 Explorers were recalled over, you guessed it, rear toe links that may not have been welded properly. It's not just Explorers that Ford has recalled over rear toe links. Earlier this year, the automaker issued a recall that covered nearly 230,000 Ford Flex, Taurus and Lincoln MKT models. All of these recalled vehicles ride on similar unibody underpinnings that Ford calls the D4 platform. We can't say whether these other D4-based vehicles will get another recall as the Explorer has. Ford says it is aware of as many as 13 crashes and six injuries attributable to the toe links covered under this most recent Explorer recall. Owners will need to visit their preferred dealership, which will "complete a torque inspection of the cross-axis ball joint and replace it as necessary," according to Ford. Related Video:
