For sale is a 2004 Ford Explorer 4x4 Eddie Bauer with 153K miles. It is burgundy and gold with leather interior. This Explorer has every option to include PW, PL, PB, Power Sunroof, Factory Tint Windows, Factory Class III Towing Package, Power Seats, Heated Seats, Adjustable Pedals and 6 CD Sound System. The engine is the 4.6 V8 which is the engine used in some Mustangs and Crown Victoria's. It is a proven V8 with literally millions and millions of miles on taxi cabs all over the country. This model year Explorer had V6 issues, but absolutely no V8 issues. The engine starts and drives perfectly. The transmission shifts and drives perfectly. It has a fresh oil change and fresh A/C charge with absolutely no leaks with either. The 4 wheel drive shifts in and out perfectly. Like I mentioned, I purchased this Explorer in Denver where the roads are not salted, and as a result there is not a single spot of rust anywhere. The tires are all matching and in great shape. The brakes are near new. I have been buying and selling vehicles on e-bay almost since e-bay was started. I have 100% feedback for a reason, as I describe everything exactly how it is. I don't want anyone winning the auction, and then wondering what the heck I was thinking when I described it! I have always sold vehicles privately, but I recently purchased a small local dealership about five months ago and have to sell them through it now. It still doesn't change a thing, I still only buy cars I would let my family and kids drive. In fact some I do keep personally to drive myself for awhile, and this particular Explorer my wife drove for about 4,000 miles. She wants me to keep it, but I have my sights on an Expedition so this has to go! We average about 1-2 vehicles sold a month and we get CarFax reports on all vehicles. I have great relationships with Diers Ford in Fremont, and I brought this in and had it completely gone through. I can deliver this Explorer anywhere in the Continental US for the price of fuel only, there and back from Omaha, Nebraska. I would tow it on a car hauler with a Chevrolet 1500 that gets about 15 mpg towing, so do the math for the total if you want it delivered. I will also work with you on getting it to a shipper of your choice if you want to go that route. I have also had some people fly in one-way and drive it home, which I could arrange pick up at Omaha airport. Thanks for looking, please e-mail with any further questions and bid with confidence! James

Here's how Detroit is selling more luxury vehicles than Germany and Japan

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Now there's an attention-grabbing headline, eh? Although the answer to the riddle - pickup trucks and SUVs - might be somehow deflating, the numbers involved deserve a going over. According to TrueCar's figures (click on the table to enlarge), six of the year's ten best-selling vehicles in the US that sell for a transaction price above $50,000 are body-on-frame, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the only foreigner to crack the top five. Every enthusiast knows that pickup trucks are 'Murica's most popular vehicle by a colossal margin, and there have been plenty of reports about the popularity of luxuriously appointed trucks and SUVs, but compare these figures from TrueCar: 70 percent of Chevrolet Tahoe sales have a transaction price above $50K, and The Bowtie is expected to make $3.9 billion in revenue on 66,945 predicted high-dollar sales; 95.1 percent of E-Class sales break $50K, so the German company will make $4.0 billion on 67,006 predicted sales in that pricing sphere. It's about the only time you'll see the Tahoe ranked right next to Mercedes' bread-and-butter sedan. Ram is ahead of those two with $4.2B coming from $50K-plus sales. The Ford F-Series does almost as much revenue as the next three combined, with an expected $10.8 billion coming from sales of trucks over $50K - more than a quarter of the model's total sales, when a base F-150 can be had for about $26,000. Yes, the Germans make a lot more money on fewer sales, but considering the comparison, the bottom line isn't too troubled by such facts. Weighing like-for-like, the full-size Ford walks it in every category; elsewhere, the Chevrolet Silverado outsells the Ram, but the Ram outsells the Chevy by 6.7 percent above $50K. And for all the flak GMC takes over swapping out grilles, the Sierra also outsells the Chevy in the well-appointed segment, 16.1 percent of sales versus 11 percent – the Professional Grade brand is a huge profit center for The General. You'll find more info in the TrueCar press release below. TrueCar finds pickup trucks far outsell premium brands among top 10 vehicles over $50,000 Ford F-Series pickup sales over $50,000 surpass combined BMW 3, 5, 7 Series luxury car sales SANTA MONICA, Calif. (December 10, 2014) - TrueCar, Inc., the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform, finds mainstream pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles dominate U.S.

Watch Tanner Foust hustle the Fiesta ST 'round the 'Ring

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The last time we saw Tanner Foust at the Nürburgring he was sloshing an SVT Raptor from kerb to kerb. Sticking with Ford but swapping keys, this time the drift champion and Top Gear USA host goes to the opposite end of the manufacturer's tuner garage and plucks a Fiesta ST for 'Ring duty.
The 179-horsepower front-wheel-driver acquits itself well by the end of the video. But be warned, Foust doesn't set a 'Ring time and it's shot like a commercial... because that's what it is. Still, you can enjoy all two minutes and 31 seconds of it below.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?" Check out our image gallery above and then let 'em know what you think in the Comments below.
