This is a very clean, low mileage, one owner, garage kept, well maintained example of Ford’s last version of the Sport Trac. If you are not familiar with the ’07 and later Sport Tracs and are just looking, you will not be disappointed. I did my homework when I bought this truck, drove everything, and nothing compares. This is a half-ton, 4-door pickup with almost 300 HP, over 300 Ft-Lbs, tows 7,000 pounds, and rides like a car. Ford got this thing right. This one happens to have a real 4x4 system with rock-crawler low gears, too. I love this truck, it's easy to drive, easy to park, and the best "do everything" all-round vehicle I've ever owned. I’m only selling because I also have a diesel, a ’61, and a ’56… I just don’t need all these trucks.
Body The
paint shines and so does all the plastic.
This AZ truck is rust free. It’s
never seen snow and rarely seen rain. Although this truck looks fantastic, it does have the following minor faults: a quarter size dent in the tail gate, a vertical scuff
mark on the right rear passenger door, two nicks in the windshield, and adhesive from the shipping plastic on the door key pad. I have included a picture of each blemish.
Interior The inside of this truck looks and smells great and has never seen smoke. The instruments look and act like brand new. The switches all do what they are supposed to. There are no broken vents or controls and the A/C blows cold. The seats are perfectly clean and stain free. Even the original floor mats look amazing.
Engine & Transmission This truck, and it’s engine bay, is clean and does not leak. There are no fluid leaks, the cooling system works flawlessly, it shifts perfectly, and passes emissions with flying colors. It fires the first time every time and runs perfectly from idle to red line.
Electrical The wiring is perfect. Nothing has ever been added, deleted, or altered in any way other than the substitution of an Optima battery. All lights, switches, etc. work like new and the charging system functions properly.
Suspension & Tires The suspension is original and works properly. The tires were replaced with original equipment Fortera tires at approximately 55,000 miles.
Brakes The brakes were checked at the last oil change (80,000 miles) and are good.
Payment I like CASH. No personal checks, credit cards or C.O.D.s.
Shipping Any delivery and shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. (but I will work with you) The truck could be stored at my location before pick up as long as it’s paid for in full.
Sold as is, where is: no warranty implied or expressed.
Buyer pays any applicable Tax, Title, Transport, License and other fees related to this sale.
The truck was in a fender-bender in October of 2012. The repairs were handled by USAA insurance and have a lifetime warranty. It was not totaled, the repairs are flawless, and there is no trace of this incident anywhere on the vehicle. I'm not sure if it would show up on a report, but if I didn't tell you about it and you didn't look it up, you would not know it happened by looking at the truck. My
truck looks like it’s 3 years old, not 7. I purchased the truck new in Phoenix, Arizona. It has rarely left the city and the only time it has ever left the state was to go to Las Vegas once and Albuquerque once; both in the summer. I towed a lightweight trailer about three times, never took it
off-road, didn't take it in the snow, didn't ever have anyone smoke in it, and rarely even ate in it; I take care of my stuff. Maintenance was all done
according to the book. Everything that was supposed to have been
flushed, replaced, or otherwise attended to has been. This is a good truck that will last you a long time, take you wherever you want to go, and look good doing it. |

2015 Ford Focus ST zooming toward Goodwood reveal [w/video]
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Ford has quite a party ready for the Goodwood Festival of Speed starting on June 27. Not only is the 2015 Mustang going to be driving in front of the European public for the first time, the Blue Oval is also unveiling its 2015 refresh for the Focus ST.
Official details about the latest Focus hot hatch are practically nonexistent at this point. Ford's teaser image shows narrower headlights, and the company says that the ST also benefits from the technical and quality improvements from the refreshed standard model, which likely means an even more Aston-Martin-like grille. However, any improvements for the power or handling are a mystery for now.
Ford will even give visitors to the festival the chance to drive the new ST - at least virtually. Gran Turismo 6 kiosks will be on hand with the hot hatch loaded up to race the Goodwood Hill Climb. There will also be real-time races between former Stig Ben Collins in the real ST challenging a player up the hill in the game.
Bill Ford augments his power by nearly doubling stake of supervoting shares
Fri, 28 Jun 2013Bill Ford Jr. has more sway than ever over the automaker that bears his surname, as the great-grandson of Ford's founder has reportedly doubled is holdings of Class B Ford stock. According to a report from Reuters (which cites a newly discovered securities filing), he acquired some 3.7 million Class B shares from an unnamed family member.
Class B shares of Ford stock are held by descendants of Henry Ford and offer expanded voting power to their holders - Bill Ford Jr. now controls roughly 11.5 percent of the total Class B pool. Ford Jr. is also a one of five trustees that manage a voting trust that oversees the majority of these "supervoting" shares. In total, Reuters reports there are 71 million Class B shares that account for 40 percent of the voting power in the company, despite making up just 2 percent of the total volume of all Ford stock.
Ford Jr. served as Ford's CEO until 2006, when he stepped down to hire and make space for current CEO, Alan Mulally. The move to consolidate Ford family voting power, at least somewhat, is seen by many as a comforting sign with Mulally's departure from the company likely to happen in the next several years.
Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.
