You are looking at one nice 2003 Excursion Eddie Bauer 4x4 Diesel! Probably the best or one of the best towing SUV's on the planet. I have had this truck since new in 2003. This was my wifes vehicle and has always been garaged. I changed the oil every 5,000 miles using only Ford diesel oil, and the fuel filters at the same time. I replaced the shocks and the tranny fluid and filter at 100,000 miles, and the air filter and tranny filter and fluid at 150,000. , I just replaced both batteries last month. The tires are brand new $900.00 Michelins with 200 miles on them, and the original spare has never been on the ground. The paint and interior are in excellent condition no burns or stains in the interior and no scratches or dents on the exterior. The drivers arm rest has a small tear on top. The front bumper has some scratches on it from where the paint chipped off. All the lights, windows, and electronics work. I am selling this truck because my Father in Law just passed away and my wife and I received 2 vehicles from his estate. This Excursion has never had a pet or smoker in it. We used it as a family vehicle, and to occasionally tow my Harley trailer to events. It has been a Great vehicle for us.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push
Wed, Jun 22 2016(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
