I bought this truck a few months ago just because I had never owned one. It had an electric gremlin that I tracked down. It was caused by a wire loom being pinched when the trailer hitch was installed at the factory. It caused the tail lights and reverse lights to ground out and blow a fuse. That all has been fixed now.

I also did a power flush on the complete brake system. The master cylinder and front end had been rebuilt at 160K at the tune of $1900 (Have Receipt). The brake pads were all in good shape so I greased all the slides and repacked the front wheel bearings.

The factory grill had a broken section so I added the billet overlay.

This truck is an absolute power house, 310 horsepower and 425 foot pounds of torque, add the factory 4.30 gears and this thing will pull anything. I used it pull my construction trailer that weighed in at around 6000lb and got 12 mpgs around the city. That’s the same as my Cummins. She still cruised great down the highway at 75 mph. Speaking of my Cummins, when we had all that snow and subzero weather, my Cummins gelled up and I was forced to drive this. She fired right up and ran through that snow like it was nothing.

KBB Private Party Good Condition is $6,752.

· Cadillac CTS-V or CTS
· Late model BMW
· Pair of 4 Stroke Dirt Bikes and Cash
· C5 Corvette (Could throw in some cash)
· Surprise Me

Clean and Clear Illinois Title. I have owned the truck since 12-18-13 and never titled it. The title is open, no date and no price. I have put roughly 600 miles on the truck since I have gotten it. I planned on using the truck for a family trip to Georgia to buy a 24’ enclosed trailer, but I ended up buying a trailer locally. So now I have no need for it.

Cons:
· Small dent on rear quarter net to taillight
· Rear hatch gas supports are weak, work sometimes
· No keyfob but do have code for the keyed entry
· CD player in dash doesn’t work, but you can listen to a CD in the DVD player
· Brake pedal sits back further than the gas pedal. I suspect the aftermarket brake booster the previous owner used. Brakes work great, I have power bled the system multiple times and greased all the slides. Just the nature of the beast.
· One of the back up sensors is bad; therefore the system does not work.

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.

Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.

Saab-powered Ford is the most unlikely drift car we've seen

Tue, Jan 19 2016

Yes, you read that headline correctly. It's supposed to be a Saab-powered Ford, and not the other way around (although we fully support the notion of a Sonnet with a Flathead V8). Apparently, some lunatic in the UK took an ass-less 1953 Ford Anglia, paired it with a turbocharged Saab engine, and tuned the entire thing to go drifting. We like it. Called Urchfab, it's the subject of Carfection's (the blokes formerly known as XCar) latest video. Aside from looking like an extra from the British version of Mad Max, it has a problem with grip, in that there's just too much of it. This car is a fabber's dream, as we get to see its unnamed owner fashion new bits and bobs for the suspension before having an unfortunate encounter with a wall at Castle Combe. You can check out the full video up at the top of the page for a closer look at this monstrous Anglia. Related Video:
