Ford's Bronco was introduced in 1966 to complete with the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout among few others in the 4-wheel-drive small suv segment. The Bronco features its own specific chassis. This 2nd year example is in very good condition. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.

This little Bronco gets around. This one is fun to drive, powered by its original 200 cubic inch six & 3-speed column-shifted manual transmission. We have receipts for over $5,200 spent in 2006 on various mechanical needs. The U-joints were replaced along with the slip yoke. The fuel pump has been replaced. The brake master cylinder was replaced. The carburetor was rebuilt. The shocks were replaced along with the coolant hoses and alternator. The transfer case was also  removed and rebuilt at this time.

The exterior presents a good solid driver-quality tan finish with white bumpers and FORD lettering.

The hardtop is white, while the body is tan throughout.

The column-shifted three-speed goes through the gears as it should. The 4-wheel-drive system is also working correctly.

The engine compartment displays the correct 200-1V inline 6-cylinder engine. This 1bbl. carbureted engine runs out good, paired with the 3-speed manual transmission. The engine has been maintained over the years. The fuel pump was replaced, alternator replaced, and carburetor rebuilt in 2009 with verifying receipts.

Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders and core support. This is a real solid little Bronco.

2015 Ford Focus

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
