Up For Auction 1975 Ford
Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino Clone (Comes with a Warranty) A Turn Key - Dependable Vehicle – Has not seen any winters one of the best you will find and it comes with a Warranty please read thoroughly.
The Car History I am the second registered
owner on this car – The car DSO was Tulsa Oklahoma where it was sold at Fred
Jones Ford in Feb 1975. In 2006 the car
was willed to the owner’s nephew in Michigan. I purchased the car in July 2006
with an original 54,000 miles. I still have the original Vehicle Books / Tire
Warranty and Name Plate Warranties from the original 1975 sale.
After a great deal of
vigorous research from Actual Ford Motor Company Employees who worked on the
Limited Edition S&H Torinos and mounds of paperwork between studios and Ford
archives I had all the information I needed to create the Starsky and Hutch
Clone Gran Torino. This car was cloned after S&H Season 1 and 2 vehicles.
The car is painted the
actual 2B Red with Wimbledon White Vector Stripe – the 15” Mags are the original
Ansen Sprints from late 1970’s, The Motorola Radio was purchased from a Studio
in California that is correct to season 2.
The Interior consists of Bucket Seats & Center Council. Along with a fully
programmable Platinum Series Federal Smart Siren and Magnetic Flashing Light
with multiple additional features that can be programmed from a Laptop.
This car has won numerous
awards over the years and has appeared in various news reports and publishing’s
including Autoweek Daily during the Michigan Woodward Dream Cruise (See Link) http://www.autoweek.com/article/20120818/carnews01/120819895 It has appeared on other
media venues such as Fox 2 News most popular TV Show Car / Michigan Cruisn News
and Times Herald News Papers. This Iconic vehicle continues to turn heads and
promote smiles from Youth to adults. Most recent award was received
in June 1014 Second Place - Awards range from Best of Show – Best of Class – 1st
– 2nd or 3rd place.
The bumper inserts on the
car are painted gray for a reason – In certain segments of season 1 you will
see this for yourself. The story behind these being painted gray varies from
Distinguishing Stunt Cars to Drive Cars on the studio set during actual filming
– too assisting in identifying PS122 vehicles at the Chicago Assembly Plant.
There are many other stories however the most accurate reason is because in
1975 2B Red was not offered on Standard Ford Vehicles; however Fleet and
Special Order Vehicles could be ordered in this color. Hence going back to the
story theory of the gray insert assisting CAP workers in identifying PS122
vehicles as special or fleet vehicle orders. The Car Make Up As aforementioned the car
was purchased with 54,000 original miles in 2006. Unfortunately at the end of
the 2013 cruise season the original 351 Windsor Engine gave its last horsepower
run from Sprinfield Illinois where it took Second Place amongst nine other
S&H Torinos. The Original 351 Windsor has been replaced with a 351W Crate
Motor purchased from Napa Auto. At the Present time the Engine has Less the
2,000 miles – while the body has approx. 63,000. The Engine has a transferable 3 Year
Unlimited Mileage Warranty. Vehicle overview
Drive Train and Interior
The Car is absolutely
solid and well maintained – Please keep in mind we drive our car we do not
house it in a trailer and take it to different venues. Cars especially one like this with an iconic background
are meant to be driven and enjoyed by owners and spectators so there are nicks
on the paint – simply said some road rash here and there – However it is still
a well-represented car at shows and 9 times out of 10 will place for an award. Paint
is solid 9 out of 10. Included with the sale are various spare parts – from Window Trim – to Wire Harnesses, Lights – switches etc…the hard to find items for these cars. Vehicle Needs - but does not hinder operation
As mentioned the car has a
3 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty on the engine and other parts as listed above
this is based on required oil changes and receipts. At the present time the
engine has received its 500 Mile Break in Oil Change and will be getting
scheduled changes at Valvoline Instant Oil Change.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
Ford updates Transit lineup for 2016
Fri, Jun 5 2015We have a strange affection for vans here at Autoblog, perhaps due to all that free candy we ate as kids. So when Ford announces some minor updates to the Transit and Transit Connect, we deliver the news that every plumber, electrician, and airport shuttle driver across the nation (and Canada) needs. The biggest item for 2016 is an optional passenger side sliding door on medium- and high-roof models, improving access to the Transit's cavernous interior. Ford's rollout of the much-improved Sync 3 infotainment system also expands to the to large van. And a reverse backup camera is now standard across the lineup. The little Ford Transit Connect is also tweaked for the next model year, right after we spent some time in the 2015 version. Titanium trim on the long-wheelbase wagon model brings second row bucket seats that fold flat. With XLT trim, you can swap out a bench seat for the buckets at no extra charge. Read on the for the full press release. FORD TRANSIT, TRANSIT CONNECT AND TRANSIT CONNECT WAGON EVEN SMARTER, MORE FLEXIBLE FOR 2016 MODEL YEAR SYNC® 3, Ford's new communications and entertainment system, is available for 2016 Ford Transit – making America's best-selling van even smarter Ford Transit built more than 100,000 vehicles in the 2015 model year Ford Transit Connect compact commercial van equipped with 2.5-liter I-4 engine gains flex-fuel capability for 2016 DEARBORN, Mich., June 4, 2015 – America's best-selling van is even better for the 2016 model year, with the addition of available SYNC 3, rearview camera technology and new customization options. "These and other updates make the 2016 Ford Transit the smartest, most flexible van ever offered by Ford," says Yaro Hetman, Ford brand manager for Transit, Transit Connect and E-Series. "Transit replaces America's best-selling van for 35 years, E-Series, first sold in 1961 as Ford Econoline, and we look forward to continuing our leadership in this important segment." Transit quickly took over the best-selling commercial van title in November 2014, having been available beginning in June at U.S. and Canadian dealerships for the first time. Ford has produced more than 100,000 Transit vans and wagons at Kansas City Assembly Plant during the 2015 model year.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
