Hey everyone, I'm sad to see it go but I'm selling my 1990 35th Anniversary Thunderbird SC. The car runs and drives perfectly fine. Just had it out today, (3/9) to make sure everything was working properly. The motor and supercharger are strong and the trans is shifting fine. One hose clamp needs to be replaced to the water pump, slight leak. The car has been in storage since November. The paint is good except for a few spots of rot, nothing major as you can see in pictures. The interior plastics are becoming separated from age, nothing is cracked though. It is only present on the dash and a door panel. Minor wear inside the car is present but nothing major. The back seats have some minor stains in the suede but I believe it can be cleaned. Any other problem areas I have show in the pictures. Please email me with any questions you may have, or come see it!

Work Done:

New crank sensor
New wiring
New solenoid
New brakes all around including new rear calipers
New Belts
Tires are 75% Goodyear Eagle RSA's
Wheels repainted a few years ago
3 1/2 inch cold air intake (I have the original parts)

Problem Areas:

The rear ride control is not functioning, It is stuck on firm setting (does not affect driving)
The cruise control is not turning on, possibly a fuse but I'm not sure
The original head unit is blown but I still have it
The gauges need to be replaced because the tachometer is not reading properly.
Right rear speaker is blown as well as factory subwoofer.

Extras:

Soaring Spirit book
Factory Floor mats in plastic
Factory suede cleaning kit
Factory car cover still in bag

I'd prefer someone to pick up the car on their own, and I encourage taking a look before bidding.

Inside the Ford GT's interior

Mon, Mar 23 2015

Ford has crafted a simple yet high-tech interior for the GT supercar, which has been on display at auto shows around the world this year. The instrument panel has a two-tier design with a floating wing. There are soft-touch materials and carbon fiber, which also is used for the passenger cell. Still, the GT's interior has been shrouded in more mystery than the rest of the car. To cast some light on the GT's cabin, we caught up with Ford design vice president Moray Callum, who explained the ins and outs of the future icon's interior. Put simply, "there's not a lot of excess materials," Callum said. But what is there is pretty cool. In case you haven't heard, Ford plans to launch the GT in 2016. It will run a mid-mounted twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and make extensive use of carbon fiber for the body structure. Related Video:

XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.

Ford recalls 1.3 million Fusions, MKZs: Steering wheels could come off

Wed, Mar 14 2018

When driving a car, the steering wheel is only expected to move in a rotational fashion, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When it moves in some other direction, something is wrong, and when it moves the wrong way enough that it is no longer attached to the steering column, that's a really, really bad thing. And apparently, according to a recall issued by Ford, there are over 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs that are at risk of this happening. And at least two accidents and one injury have been attributed to the issue. Ford says the problem is that the steering wheel bolt that keeps the wheel attached to the column might not provide enough torque, resulting in the bolt slowly loosening and working its way off the column. The good news is that the fix is really simple. Ford will install a larger bolt with more threads along with a larger nylon patch to keep it all locked down. The fix is completely free to owners. Cars affected by the recall include 2014 to 2017 Fusions built built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan between August 6, 2013, and February 29, 2016. Model year 2014-2018 Fusions and MKZs built at the Hermosillo factory in Mexico are also affected. So if you have one of those sedans, please get in touch with your local dealer to have the issue addressed. Related Video:
