I have owned this vehicle since January 1982. It had 17,000 miles showing when I bought it. (Most likely it had had 117,000.) The truck had been in California until the Summer of 1979. I replaced the 292, stick with a 390, overdrive. It has a Cobra Jet cam, intake and a Holley 4-barrel. I also had a spare 4.57 rear end which I put in it. This works out to about 3.30:1 in high overdrive. (I have got a 3.56 rear end which I will give you if you'd rather have it in place of the 4.57.) Runs very strong. Truck was black with a red middle when I got it. I had it painted black then and re-painted black again about 3 years ago.

This would make a great tow vehicle for a show car. (Especially a Skyliner.)

Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit

Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.

Here's the new face of the Ford Ranger

Ford Asia Pacific has put a teaser video on YouTube showing off details on the 2015 Ranger pickup, and at the end we get a quick glimpse of the whole truck. This is the T6 Ranger that we still don't get in North America, but that shares its underpinnings with the Everest SUV recently introduced at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. The Ranger gets a chunkier front end than the Everest, identified by its grille with three floating slats, reminiscent of designs on the previous F-150, and a less-stylized lower front bumper. Ford says it will be smarter, safer, smoother and stronger, but we'll have to wait for its reveal to find out what that means. Meanwhile, you can admire its new looks in the video below.
