1950 Ford Pickup Rebuilt Flathead V-8 Low Reserve on 2040-cars
Kingman, Indiana, United States
1950 Ford F1 pick-up with a 51 cab. Rebuilt 239 flathead V-8. Runs Great, no leaks, no smoke. It's all steel except fenders and running boards which are fibreglass. New steel bed with oak floor. Complete rebuilt steering box. New drag-link and tie rod ends. 12-circuit economy wiring harness from Speedway Motors. After market water, oil, volts and gas gauges. Everything electrical on this truck works including headlights, brake lights (low beam and high beam), turn signals, heater, dash lights, wipers, FM radio. What more can I say? Brand new black Daytona wheels with new 15" 235 tires. New front and rear bumpers. New exhaust with Smithy glasspack mufflers. New brake shoes, master cylinder, rebuilt wheel cylinders. All new tinted glass. Doors open and close as they should. I took a picture of the truck when I first got it and as you can see, a lot of time and work went into it. It was fun but I buy them, fix them, then sell them to find another project. I had this truck listed on ebay previously but decided to work on it a little more this winter and upgrade it as much as possible. Clear Indiana Title. You can drive this one home - it's not a show truck, just a fun daily driver. Any questions, call 765-397-3492. Thanks for looking. P.S. - I don't sell junk! Jack |

Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues
Fri, 26 Sep 2014Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.
Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA
Tue, 29 Oct 2013With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
Ford to spread all-wheel drive across performance range
Tue, Feb 10 2015Car and Driver took a closer look at the all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS, Ford reps having made "broad hints" about it being applied to other performance vehicles. One spokesperson even said that he "can see this as one of those technologies of the future." That would make sense because, as C/D notes, it couldn't have been an inexpensive job to engineer the torque-vectoring unit for the Focus – one that can send 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels, and send 100 percent of that portion to either wheel if needed. C/D also clues into the system's close similarity to the AWD unit in the recently updated Range Rover Evoque, which is manufactured by Sweden's GKN Driveline. In the Evoque, torque vectoring is brake based and two electronically controlled clutches turn the Range into a front-wheel-drive crossover under 22 miles per hour. Ford wouldn't comment on the GKN Driveline connection, or even if there is one. No matter where it might come from, more performance Fords are good for every enthusiast, and we do not look an AWD, torque-vectoring gift horse in the mouth.
