2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 #072. It is a very low production number being one of
the first 100 built. It comes with all the documentation including: Original Window Sticker, Certificate of
Authenticity, Boss 302 Owners packet with numbered and engraved key chain, Boss 302 Car Cover, and Track Key.
It is has every option available on the 2012 Boss 302's including Recaro seats, TORSEN helical differential, Boss
302 car cover and carpeted floor mats.
The Boss has a few upgrades to make it perform even better. I added a MGW shifter for more precise shifts (stock
shifter comes with car), Eibach Sportline lowering springs (stock springs come with car, Ford Racing adjustable
panhard bar (stock panhard bar comes with car) and Spintech mufflers (stock mufflers come with car). All of these
are reversible so if you want to bring it back to factory stock, you can.
This is a low mileage (9,749 miles), early production Boss 302 that comes everything that you would want including
multiple car show trophies, matching MatchBox car, R/C car, as well as other extras.
Boss 302's have some rather unique features such as Track Key and Quad Exhaust.
Track Key - is special software activated by Ford Dealer which puts the car in Track Mode, producing more
horsepower and changing engine characteristics. My car has had the Track Key activated and it's awesome!
Quad Exhaust - the exhaust system has exhaust tips that exit prior to the rear wheels are can be adjusted using
baffle plates. My baffles are removed but are included in case you don't like it loud. It sounds great to me!
Modern Boss 302's are modeled after the original 1969 - 1970 Boss 302's with Stripes that mirrored those years. The
2012's looking like 1969's and 2013's, the 1970's.
Car & Driver tested the cars and their testing numbers were:
60 mph in 4.2 seconds
Quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds at 114 mph
Top speed of 161 mph
0.96 g of cornering grip
This is a great car that always turns heads and gets thumbs up as you drive down the road. You will get all of the
extras including the two 1st place trophies that it won.
I would be happy to pick you up at Norfolk International Airport (ORF) if you want to fly in and drive it home. If
you would like to get it shipped, I will work with your shipper to get the car loaded.

Ford's Farley will challenge dealers to cut EV cost to customers by $2,000

Fri, Sep 9 2022

DETROIT — Ford Motor Co Chief Executive Jim Farley will go to Las Vegas next week to roll the dice on a strategy to convince dealers to cut as much as $2,000 from the cost of delivering an electric vehicle to a customer. Ford has told dealers that one key topic for the meetings will be a discussion of new agreements that would govern how dealers sell Ford's expanding lineup of electric vehicles. Farley told analysts in July that Ford needs to cut $2,000 a vehicle out of selling and distribution costs to be competitive with Tesla Inc and other electric vehicle startups that sell directly to consumers without franchised dealers. About a third of those savings could come from what Farley called a "low inventory model," where customers order a vehicle and Ford ships it to the customer, rather than stocking vehicles on dealer lots for weeks or months. "We think that's about -- worth maybe $600, $700 in our system," Farley told analysts. Tesla can also adjust prices rapidly on its website, and keep most of the gain from a price increase. Ford declined to comment other than to say “we are excited to meet next week with our North America dealers to grow and win together.” Dealers said they expect Ford to outline minimum investments for charging stations and other equipment to support electric vehicle customers. A key question will be how quickly dealers will be required to install chargers, which dealers said can cost as much as $500,000. "The manufacturers so far have let us scale into it and I think Ford will hopefully do the same thing. You just can't say, 'Listen, we're going to sell 2 million electric cars five years from now and we expect you to put in five superchargers,'" said Rhett Ricart, owner of Ricart Ford, a large dealership in Columbus, Ohio. Tesla's success at selling electric vehicles without franchised dealers is putting pressure on all established automakers to overhaul their retail networks. A shift by Ford to a Tesla-style build to order system could come with caps on the profit margins dealers can earn on a new vehicle sale, some dealers said. "I see dealer margins still being very competitive, but they are going to shift," Farley said in July. Ford intends to put more emphasis on selling products and services after the initial vehicle sale, he said. Dealers said state franchise laws could give dealers leverage to resist efforts by Ford to set fixed prices or fixed fees for delivering electric vehicles.

Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines

Sat, 23 Feb 2013

It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.

As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?

Mon, Feb 9 2015

North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper.
