Here we have a 1996 mustang cobra its the real deal. The engine threw a rod and hit the inside of the block so the engine is no good. The transmission is a 5 speed and as far as I know it works fine, I bought the car from a friend at work and he said the engine just locked up going down the road so the transmission was working then so I assume it still does its very clean like it has been rebuilt in the past but im not sure just going on what I see. The engine wiring harness, intake and valve covers has been sold to a friend so you get the block, heads and crank which needs to be turned, timing cover and h-pipe and driveshaft plus extra bolts parts etc. This is a nice low mile cobra that's getting hard to find. The car needs tires all the way around and paint looks good but could use a new paint job to look new. interior has cracks in front seats but not all the way through just lines like they all do. It has aftermarket FR500 rims, flowmaster dual exhaust and h-pipe, subframe connectors and 411 rear end gears. This would be a great drag car or just put another cobra engine in it and have a nice cobra. Here in alabama you have to have the car running to get it registered so the title is still in my friends name but it is signed over to me on the back so I can just sign it again over to the new owner under my name. The car came from Houston texas and that's where it was last registered last year or two. All sales are final, no returns, exchanges. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK UP OR SHIPPING. 700.00 PAYPAL IS REQUIRED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION NO EXCPTIONS AND REST DUE IN CASH AT PICKUP OR INSTANT BANK TRANSFER BEFORE YOU PICK IT UP AND IT MUST BE CLEARED. NO MONEY ORDERS. I HAVE 100% FEEDBACK AND HAVE EXPLAINED THIS CAR AS BEST AS I CAN WITH MY KNOWLEDGE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT ME. The car is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if the car has been sold locally. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!!!
On Jul-26-13 at 15:21:41 PDT, seller added the following information:The block got hit by the rod but a local machine shop said they could repair it no problem but it will have to be repaired. If the car goes over 3,500 I will throw in a aluminum flywheel and spec clutch, also I will throw in the engine wiring harness and upper and lower intake with all sensors and valve covers. The guy that was buying this stuff never came up with the money so I will let it go with the car if it reaches 3,500 so all you would need then would be the rods and pistons to put the car back together.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms
Tue, 25 Jun 2013The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?" Check out our image gallery above and then let 'em know what you think in the Comments below.
Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
2015 Ford Focus ST zooming toward Goodwood reveal [w/video]
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Ford has quite a party ready for the Goodwood Festival of Speed starting on June 27. Not only is the 2015 Mustang going to be driving in front of the European public for the first time, the Blue Oval is also unveiling its 2015 refresh for the Focus ST.
Official details about the latest Focus hot hatch are practically nonexistent at this point. Ford's teaser image shows narrower headlights, and the company says that the ST also benefits from the technical and quality improvements from the refreshed standard model, which likely means an even more Aston-Martin-like grille. However, any improvements for the power or handling are a mystery for now.
Ford will even give visitors to the festival the chance to drive the new ST - at least virtually. Gran Turismo 6 kiosks will be on hand with the hot hatch loaded up to race the Goodwood Hill Climb. There will also be real-time races between former Stig Ben Collins in the real ST challenging a player up the hill in the game.
