This Mustang has been very well taken care of. Previous owner was an older gentleman in his 60's, babied the car and kept it garaged. Never driven in winter, therefore, no rust. It does have a few dings and a few chips in the paint. The right front corner of the bumper has some paint chipping but overall its in very good condition for a 21 year old car. The top is original, has a couple of stress cracks where it folds when its down but it has absolutely zero leaks. I have replaced several pieces of weatherstripping, new KYB shocks, new Eibach lowering springs, new subframe connectors, new stage 2 clutch and cable, new billet short throw shifter. New Pypes stainless x-pipe, new SLP loudmouth stainless exhaust, new battery, msd cap, ford racing wires, BBK shorty headers, electric fan and last but certainly not least, a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger! The interior is nearly perfect, carpet is great, seats are great, door panels and dash are great. Everything works as it should, including the power top, power windows, powers locks, cruise control and power lumbar seats. I cannot verify if the A/C is working at this time, but I do know it still has R-12 refrigerant in the system as it is holding pressure. The headlights are crystal clear too, unlike most plastic headlights. It has great tires with lots of tread left, and all trim and top is still very black, not faded. The original top boot is in the trunk and looks brand new. This car is very fast and very fun to drive. The supercharger really makes this thing pull hard and spin the tires for as long as you want, or at least til you redline it. The exhaust is very loud when you floor it, but its a sweet open header sound that makes your heart race. Yet when driving normally around town its not that bad at all. You can still hear the radio at highway speeds which is very good considering it is a convertible. I've invested a lot of time and money into this car, just under 10k over the winter just to get it ready for spring and summer top down fun, but I need to make room for a car for my son and this definitely is not a car for a kid. I may consider partial trades for a small nice fuel efficient vehicle for my son along with some cash or a nice Jeep wrangler with a 6 cylinder only. I may consider a diesel truck as well, doesn't hurt to ask, just no junk, rust buckets or project vehicles, quads, boats or motorcycles. Any questions, just ask by text or call. Matthew 319-423-1555, and please no joyrides or tire kickers. I will take you for a ride but don't expect to come and have me hand over the keys so you can take it around the block.

Ford tweaking Model E dealer program to address dealer concerns
Wed, May 29 2024Ford's been working on its strategy and sales reorganization for a couple of years, the initiative that created the Blue (ICE), Pro (commercial), and Model E (electric) divisions. On the Model E side, part of continuous reworking of the EV arm has been in response to dealer lawsuits filed in numerous states, since Model E not only stipulated investments of anywhere from $500,000 to $1.2 million, the automaker initially wanted dealers to set no-haggle pricing, offer remote pickup and delivery for service appointments, and build chargers that would operate around-the-clock. Another big part of the tweaks to Model E is the continually unstable ground the entire electric project is built on. As part of understanding what dealers are facing and how to keep the electric wheels turning, Automotive News reports that the automaker held 11 meetings with dealers this year in six cities. Based on the feedback, more changes are coming to Model E as soon as next month.  During the roadshow, Ford told dealers to pause their investments into getting certified for Model E. This directive followed a corporate change in plans as Ford pulled investments in battery-electrics in favor of consumers' choice for hybrids. The head of Ford Blue — the internal-combustion-powered division that, with Ford Pro, has been paying the bills as Model E posts big losses — told AN, "We don't want them to make any decisions between now and the middle of June, when you can maybe have a more informed decision-making process based off what we work out with council in the next few weeks." One change has already been made public, the VP of EV programs telling an AutoNews business conference audience, “What weÂ’re finding is more dealers want to be involved in it and we donÂ’t want to be exclusive to just a handful, and so weÂ’re making a change where weÂ’re opening up that and not requiring as many certifications or investments for a dealer to participate in the EV revolution." Don't take that comment as a revelation; since the beginning, dealers complained about being excluded and needing to throw so much money at the program. Take that comment as Ford needing to find a better way in the "rapidly changing" environment. The official list of updates won't come until next month, when Ford meets its dealer council, and it should touch on topics beyond EVs.
Best new convertibles for 2024 and 2025
Thu, Jan 25 2024If you’re here, then youÂ’re already in the right mindset. Convertibles rule, and we have all the best convertibles listed for you further below. Driving around with the top off is an experience you need to live to fall in love with. When the weatherÂ’s right, youÂ’re on a proper bit of road, and the car youÂ’re in is a good one, few automotive experiences can top it. The experience is extra special when you have a musical exhaust note filtering directly into your ears and echoing off the landscape around you. And while rolling the windows down and opening a moonroof can get you part of the way there, it's nothing like feeling the wind wash over you with absolutely no roof overhead. The downsides can be just as harsh as the upsides when youÂ’re in the wrong conditions, though. Convertibles are typically worse to live with in cold climates, and driving around with the top up frequently means you might be subject to more road noise and worse visibility than an equivalent coupe. And when it comes to pure performance, convertibles are inherently compromised from a weight and structural rigidity perspective. All that said, we still think the upsides outweigh the compromises if your number one objective is to simply have fun. ItÂ’s a good thing then that there are a ton of great convertibles for sale these days. And no, the list of possibilities isnÂ’t as long as it used to be. Long-running standbys like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and C-Class Convertibles are gone (replaced by the one CLE-Class). And so are others like the Audi TT Roadster, Fiat 124 Spider and Nissan Z Roadster. Nevertheless, opportunities abound from the ultra-cheap and fun, to physics-defying supercars and everything else in between. WeÂ’ll give you options for which new convertibles we think are the best below, so read on to find out. Â Mazda MX-5 Miata Pros: Lightweight and compact; great engine and transmission combo; one of the most raw and pure driving experiences out thereCons: Not great for tall people; infotainment is dated; tiny trunk Read our Mazda MX-5 Miata Review Miata is always the answer, right? In this case, that rings even more true than usual. In fact, you could stop reading this list right here and go buy a Miata and youÂ’d likely be just as happy driving it around as you would be in any of the more expensive offerings that follow. ThatÂ’s just the magic of the MX-5.
Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores
Tue, 29 Apr 2014The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
