Genuine Eleanor Mustang! Built as a surplus car for Movie promotion - it was not driven in movie just used as a
promotional photo/video shoot car. "Gone in 60 seconds". Genuine 4 speed GT 390 fastback recreated as a Shelby
GT500E. 428 big block, Nitrous, new suspension, ground pounding, legend of a car! Las Vegas, NV USA car.
Vin:8T02S217570
Mechanical: The car has under 5500 miles on it since it was completed in 2005. It has never been raced or abused
and is in mint condition besides a few minor blemishes that can easily be fixed. During the restoration and
creation of this car, everything was disassembled and rebuilt. The engine and transmission are brand new, with $20k
spent on the engine alone. Every piece of the braking, fuel, and suspension systems is also brand new. Thanks to
the Tremec racing transmission, this car can easily cruise at 60mph at only 2000RPM. It is the perfect combination
of classic look and feel with modern enhancements. No expense was spared to build it and it needs nothing but a
driver. We had a body shop quote $3000.00 to get the car completely perfect again. It has a few minor small
fiberglass cracks and chrome molding around windshield needs replacement. You'll see these in more detail in photos
upon request. Clear NV Title. Ready to be driven daily.
Specs:
428 Cobra Jet with aluminum heads (625 hp+)
ARP bolts throughout engine
2 Holley 750 carbs
dual plate NOS system

Optima battery,
new wiring harness
Aluminum water pump
March pulleys

Shaft roller rockers
Hooker headers
functional side exhaust
Tremec T-56 six-speed racing transmission
Mcleod blowproof bellhousing
Hurst shifter with nitrous button on knob
power disc brakes front and rear
all new front and rear suspension
9 inch rear (final drive of .60)
stainless brake and fuel lines
cable clutch
Exterior:
The car has been finished in beautiful Pepper Grey Metallic with Black Metallic stripes (DuPont fleet 44490 and
44435) just like the Eleanor in the movie. The paint shines from all angles and the car is absolutely flawless. The
car appears to have been well taken care of prior to restoration and shows no signs of rust or rust repair
anywhere. Of course, no Eleanor would be complete without the Eleanor kit. This car has the correct headlight
bezels, billet aluminum upper and lower grills, front lower valance, hood, front fender flares, rear fender flares,
side exhaust skirts, exhaust scoops, lower side scoops, tail lamp panel and Shelby GT500E lights to make this car
correct. The kit fits the car like a glove-all of the seams line up perfectly and it's as if the car came from the
factory with them. To complete the look, the car sits on the correct 17" Eleanor wheels and new tyres.
Interior:
This car is as perfect inside as it is outside and under the hood. It has been updated with brushed aluminum dash
panels, leather racing seats, a Lacarra wooden Shelby steering wheel and a CD player. A rollbar with 4 point
harnesses are also installed for safety. The interior looks brand new. Anti sway Bar, and a tune up just done. The
power sticks to The pavement.

The 11 most expensive American cars ever

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.

Enterprise customer billed $47k for Mustang stolen from rental lot

Sun, 05 Jan 2014

A weekend rental of a Ford Mustang GT Convertible sounds like a nice, relaxing way to burn some gas, but one Nova Scotia woman's two-day rental is turning into a months-long headache. In early October, Kristen Cockerill picked up the Mustang from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and she returned it the following day as stipulated by the rental contract. Unfortunately, she dropped the car off on a Sunday - a day on which the particular Enterprise office is closed - and the car ended up being stolen overnight.
Now, two months later, CBC reports that Cockerill received a bill from Enterprise for the full replacement of the car totaling $47,271 (a base 2014 Mustang GT Convertible currently costs $40,349 in Canada). As it turns out, the fine print in the contract says that the renter is responsible for cars dropped off after hours until it can be inspected the next business day - this is also reflected on the key drop seen in the news report video, which states "vehicles returned after hours are the responsibility of the renter until inspected on the next business day."
It's not clear how much, if any, of that amount Cockerhill will be responsible for once her insurance company gets involved, but if the insurance company refuses to pay, Enterprise will bill the amount to the credit card she provided during her rental. While this ordeal is far over for Cockerhill, it's a good reminder for the rest of us to always read the fine print.

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.
