1967 Shelby Gt500 Fastback on 2040-cars
Wilson, North Carolina, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : mattmkkneedler@f1drivers.com .
This is a 1967 Shelby mustang that is very rare and low mileage. It was a drag racer back in the day and by that
being said you should know its not a 100% factory assembly line matching #'s correct. The original owner back in
the day bought this car from J.D.BALL FORD in Miami Fl and within a week blew up the original engine and i was told
that the dealer picked it up from a drag strip and towed it to the dealership. With the warrantee still in effect
there was some disagreement between the owner and the adjuster after he found out where they picked it up at (DRAG
STRIP) , so the owner made a deal with them by buying a over the counter 427 hi performance engine and replace the
original 428 PI. The dealer installed the 427 and he was back on the road, so all in all its a dealer installed 427
engine. later the automatic transmission was replaced to a big spline 428 toploader transmission RUG-AE. the
interior is all original with hardly any wear. i was told it got its red/orange paint in the late 90's and still
looks pretty good today. I use to drive this car alot but its only been driven a few times in the last 2 years so
its time to let it go. The original owner made this car what shelby should have offered 427 engines rule! after i
bought it i had the 427 rebuilt useing the best of the best you could buy. the engine had less than 30k miles and i
had it bored .030 over and i have put nearly 500 miles since the rebuild. also when we changed the distributor to
MSD electronic it did not come with instructions on tach hook up and i left it unhooked till i can get more info.
cant get much info on the MSD hotline. this car dyno was 630HP at rear wheels.

Ford gets its Movement on, releases 'Sounds of Focus' tracks
Sun, 25 May 2014Ford has, for at least the second year in a row, teamed up with techno promoter Paxahau and a couple of artists to make music in recognition of the Detroit Movement music festival. This time, Movement performers Ataxia and Secrets were selected by Ford, and were invited to spend some time at the automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant, which gives birth to the Ford Focus and Focus Electric models.
Now that we know the what, how about the why? According to Ford, "Detroit is uniquely tied to the origins of the electronic music scene. In the 1980's variations of electronic music stemmed from inspirations of industry, including the automotive sector." So, there you go. If you're interest is piqued, feel free to read the press release, watch the video and listen to the tracks below.
How tariffs in China could cause a meltdown in the American South
Sun, Aug 25 2019While BMW is clearly a German company, the crossovers that are exceedingly important to it are actually made in Spartanburg, South Carolina. And more than that, the Spartanburg plant (physically located in the town of Greer) is where the corporate know-how and capability for those vehicles is concentrated. These are the vehicles – specifically, the BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 – that drove record growth for the company in 2018, according to BMW. But whatÂ’s most notable about BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, given current events, is that according to the U.S. Department of Commerce it was the largest automotive exporter by value for the fifth year running in 2018. ThatÂ’s worth emphasizing: largest automotive exporter by value. Not GM. Not Ford. BMW. And where might one assume that more than a few of those X vehicles are shipped to? China. Some 360 miles southwest of Spartanburg is Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., in in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. It started building vehicles in 1997. Since then, Daimler AG has invested in excess of $5.5 billion in the facility. It manufactures the crossover now known as the GLE, formerly the ML-Class. It also makes the GLE coupe and GLS. Daimler describes the Tuscaloosa facility as “the traditional home of SUV production” for those vehicles. When it reported its global 2018 sales, Daimler noted that on a global basis SUVs account “for more than a third of all Mercedes-Benz sales.” According to the Chinese finance ministry, on December 15th the Chinese government will impose a 25% tariff on automobiles (and a 5% tariff on auto parts) from the U.S. Certainly this is going to have a direct effect on the sales of vehicles that are manufactured in the U.S. and exported to China. BMW and Mercedes are going to take it on the chin for the vehicles that they make in plants that they invested in so heavily in the U.S. Which could potentially mean that people in places like Greer, South Carolina, and Vance, Alabama, are going to find themselves in the crosshairs of the combatants. Soo too could Lincoln, which produces vehicles in places like Louisville, Kentucky (Navigator), Chicago, Illinois (Aviator) and Flat Rock, Michigan (Continental). Although the Tesla Gigafactory 3 is rapidly nearing completion in Shanghai, it is worth noting that vehicles built in Fremont, California, are being sold in China in numbers that donÂ’t make Musk unhappy.
