The roadster is a 1926 in running condition, I drove this car for the first time. By that I never drove a model t before. No lessons. I took off with glee then remembered that the second gear was on the side lever. When it engaged the car took off and I felt like I hit the turbocharger!  What a rush to go 25 mph that felt like 75 in car with such quick steering. I pulled down the throttle and coasted to a stop in front of the house in the photo. Fun fun fun!  To get it running after years of sitting in a garage, all I had to do was clean out the carb and gas tank, charge the battery, add gas and viola it came to life. This is a nice little roadster. Interior as you can see in the photos is in great shape. The wire wheels set if off with a sporty look.
A couple of the seat button are missing, no big deal.. The top and irons are in very good condition as well. There are some dings and dents that have accrued over it's lifetime but is part of it's ambience.  Overall an 8 out of 10 to me. Remember it's original down to those flaws.
The TT Truck is a 1925 with two speed Rucksdell axle.  Also completely original. Everything is there.  Might need need tires but they hold air and they are black. But all the same I would replace them if you are going to drive this truck to shows, parades or around the farm. The wood box is in good condition. When I found it, it was covered with a water bed bladder to preserve the wood. I seems to be all there.
I also have three other model t's:  1919 touring that will need interior restoration. the body is pretty nice.  Top irons and bows are there. All running gear is there. Missing windshield glass. Frame is there.
2      1925 deliveries. No body. front end complete to the cowl and steering wheel.  These were made without bodies purposely so the owner could build their custom boxes or what have you for delivering and hauling items. I have read that were used for delivering newspapers, milk and mail to name a few uses. Or just buzzing around the farm!

If interested in more conversation please call my with questions and comments before you bid.  Both of these items are clear titled. The others do not have titles, either because they are too old or never registered by the original owners. Bill of sale will be given upon sale.
Make me an offer for my whole collection if you like, including all parts.. The trailer in the photo was purchased for the express reason to haul the parts back the Las Vegas from North Dakota. It is available if you wish to purchase it along with the parts on it. It is a PJ 25' hitch type deluxe trailer. spring loaded attached ramps for easy use. heavy duty wiring package for cold seater. Crank down foot, electric brakes. The trailer was only used once to move the parts so there is about 1300 miles on it. Tows like a dream!
There are several pallets of wheels, tires and rims that are not visible that would go with the rest on the trailer.
i also have a ton of spare parts from this collection. 10 engines, fenders, wheels, transmissions, suspensions, axles, lights, sheet metal parts, coils and boxes, steering columns and much more.
Many of the part are restored already. See photos.  There are many more not shown.
I am being reassigned overseas so I cannot take my collections with me as it is to prohibitive.
Oh, One more thing,  I have a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe for sale. $140,000.  NOT STOCK BY ANY IMAGINE. LOOKS LIKE IT IN MANY WAYS BUT HIGHLY MODIFIED
SHOW CAR. ASK FOR INFO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
  THANKS FOR LOOKING.
I will be out of town until the 18 th of July. So if you win this auction. You will have to collect your car/truck after that date. Come to Las Vegas and have fun when  you come to  pick up your classic vehicles.

How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.

Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.
