This is a 1923 Ford Model T Coupe also known as an Opera Coupe or a Doctor's Coupe. The car is an excellent driver and is really fun to drive - it really runs great! It has an electric starter but also can be started by the front crank without a battery using the magneto. I have started it both ways but it has more power when driving with the battery. Has a new 6 volt battery and carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt. Car was in a heated garage for about 20-24 years and is original. I am a perfectionist so I think it could use a paint job since there is a good amount of cracking along the hood hinge (see pictures) and it also has a couple of nicks on the fenders (again, please see pictures). Tires are in very good condition with no crazing (spare has some cracks in it but is still fine). Doesn't leak any oil and transmission works great. This is an original car and could use some interior work -- some of the welting fabric is loose and frayed. The body is in great shape as far as no rust anywhere -- all the steel is solid! Window regulators work but the passenger regulator slips. Car also has some options on the dash -- a wind up clock (needs work possibly) and an old APCO air freshener from the 1920's. Radiator is great - no leaks. Also of interest is the locking mechanism on the steering wheel -- believe this was an option not added by Ford but I am not 100% positive. Headlamps are electric but lights near cowl have kerosene wicks in them. Please feel free to ask any questions -- I am more familiar with the Model A's than the Model T but I have enjoyed driving this car -- it starts instantly and is a load of fun to drive once you get used to it!!! Selling because I need to make room in garage for another Model A. I've tried to provide the good and the bad in my description but again, if you have any additional questions or would even like to see a video of the car running/driving, please let me know and I'll be glad to send. I have a bill of sale but title is long gone - god knows what happened to it! Also of particular note, there is a brass plate on the passenger sill indicating the car was originally purchased from Burnett and Sherman Ford Lincoln Dealership in Boston, Massachusetts. Car is available for pickup in Kensington, CT. l

Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch
Fri, Oct 7 2016MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day. Ford taps Canada-based Multimatic to build carbon fiber Ford GT
Mon, Feb 16 2015Ford has given Canadian firm Multimatic the nod to build the carbon fiber body on the new GT – The Blue Oval says it has worked with this company for 30 years. The global supplier provides parts and engineering to various automakers, and while based in Markham, Ontario it has 12 plants in Canada, the US, Mexico, England, and China. When announcing the decision at the Canadian International Auto Show, Ford says it chose them "because they have specialized equipment for carbon fiber production and expertise in carbon fiber assembly," and we've heard that the 600-horsepower coupe will be produced in a purpose-built facility at Ford's factory in Markham. Even better than that – for GT purposes and for possible hints at a Le Mans run – the Multimatic Motorsports division can be contracted for engineering and race team management. They currently produce the Boss 302R racecar in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, worked on the FR500C, and their Multimatic Motorsports Lola B2K/40 won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000. The first models will roll off the line at the end of next year. Production numbers are rumored to be in the low hundreds, with a six-figure price tag around $200,000. They'll go into production in time for some sort of 50th anniversary celebration of the GT40 taking the the top three spots at Le Mans in 1966. Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end
Fri, 26 Jul 2013One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.
