this car is in very good shape for its age.its been off of the road for a while now,since 1990 so its going to need some tlc to put her back on.i know it needs a brake job because the wheel cylinder in the back wont hold fluid so the brakes are nonexistent.theres a hole in the trunk pan from rust but other than that the car is solid and almost completely rust free.there is no rust in the floorpans at all or in the lower rockers or quarters.there is a big bend in the passenger side door that needs to be fixed.the interior is in really good shape but it needs a dash pad and headliner.its got the original bucket seats and console horseshoe shifter in it.its the factory 390 4 barrel engine in it and yes the engine does crank up with no knocks or rattles.it doesn't have a radiator or power steering pump,someone stole them.other than that you've got a nice car and the hide away headlights give the car a really cool look to it.the factory original hubcaps are in the trunk but I had to put some mismatched wheels on the front due to someone took the ones that were on it so I didn't try to put the hubcaps on it.if theres any other pics youd like to see or if youd like to see the car in person feel free to contact me with all of your questions.thanks and happy bidding.

2016 Ford Explorer embarks at the LA Auto Show

Twenty-five years since its debut in 1990, Ford will celebrate a quarter century of Explorer models next year with the debut of a refreshed 2016 model at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. The Blue Oval is keeping mum on hard details about the updated SUV for now, but the brand promises, "a new look, added capability and additional driver-assist technology," in its announcement.
Company marketing boss Jim Farley elaborated a little more on what to expect. "The new Explorer is still the SUV America fell in love with - a vehicle built for the perfect family adventure," he said in the release that you're welcome to read down below.
An updated Explorer is a pretty big deal for Ford's bottom line. Worldwide, SUVs and crossovers account for about 23 percent of Ford's sales, and the segment is projected to grow to around 29 percent by 2020. Ford further says that SUVs and CUVs are the world's quickest growing segment with demand up 88 percent since 2008.

Hennessey completes first VelociRaptor SUV conversion [w/video]

Start with a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as your base vehicle for modification, and chances are high that you'll end up with something pretty cool. Now, have those modifications done by professional lunatics Hennessey Performance, make the project turning the pickup into an ultra-long SUV, and the result stands a real chance of being a total kick in the ass. Let us present the Hennessey VelociRaptor then, in all of its awesomeness.
Hennessey has taken care in grafting a "Expedition style" rear cabin onto the Raptor, complete with an optional third row. The pictures we have show a cabin that's up to the fit and finish standards of the original Ford truck, too. The cab added over the bed also makes room for a massive load space out back, accessible via split out-folding doors and long enough for a person to lay down in (see video).
Mechanically, the truck-turned-SUV sticks with Ford's stock 6.2-liter V8, rated at 411 horsepower, or can be had with a supercharger and some 600 hp. Hennessey says the stock-motor VelociRaptor will run from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.5 seconds, while the hi-po version takes just 5.9 seconds. The SUV does take some of the off-road ability away from the Raptor, with the company saying it hasn't yet had the opportunity to test its capabilities. On-roading and "moderate off-road duties" are the current prescription.
