1964 Ford Falcon Futura on 2040-cars
Macon, Georgia, United States
1964 FORD FALCON FUTURA SEDAN - PROJECT CAR - THIS IS AN ORIGINAL CAR WITH EVERYTHING THERE. IT IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING, HOWEVER, THE LAST OWNER STATED THAT IT RAN WELL WHEN PARKED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PERIODICALLY FOULING OUT THE PLUG IN CYLINDER NUMBER 6. IT IS A 3 SPEED MANUAL ON THE COLUMN WITH THE ORIGINAL AM RADIO AND SEAT BELT OPTIONS. IT HAS ALL OF THE MOULDING AND TRIM. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL THE ONLY PIECE MISSING IS THE LOWER CHROME THAT GOES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR BACK GLASS. ROCKERS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.
THE WORSE PART OF THE CAR IS THE FRONT DRIVER FLOOR PAN. THE PASSENGER FRONT HAS A FEW HOLES, BUT CAN BE REPAIRED. THE REAR PANS HAVE SURFACE RUST, BUT ARE SOLID. THE TRUNK LID HAS SOME RUST AROUND THE INNER BOTTOM LIP. THE DRIVER FENDER HAS A LITTLE RUST, AND THE PASSENGER FENDER HAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT AT THE LOWER REAR. THE ROCKERS AND QUARTERS ARE SOLID. THE ENGINE TURNS OVER BY HAND, BUT I BELIEVE THE STARTER IS GONE. THE FRONT BRAKES HAS NEW LINES (NOT SURE ABOUT SHOES). THE REAR BRAKES NEED WORK. THE BODY WAS WET WHEN PICS WERE TAKEN DUE TO RAIN, BUT THE BODY AND MOULDING IS PRETTY STRAIGHT. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS AS I AM VERY FORTHCOMING ABOUT THE CONDITION OF EVERYTHING I SELL. THANKS FOR LOOKING! |

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter
Mon, 28 Jul 2014Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.
FCA to pay buyers $1,700 to swap out of scandal-mired VWs
Tue, Oct 6 2015FCA is trying to gain some sales from arch-rival VW in the competitive European market by offering potential buyers in Italy up to $1,700 to swap into an FCA group car. While the promotion isn't specifically targeted at TDI owners affected by the emissions scandal, it is clearly intended to turn dissatisfaction with VW's defeat device cheat into additional sales, Bloomberg reports. The 500-1,500 euro incentive (roughly $560-1,700, depending on vehicle) stacks on top of any other rebates or deals applicable, and applies if a buyer brings in any of Volkswagen Group's cars – including Audi, Skoda, and SEAT, among (many) others. As Bloomberg notes, it's normal for automakers to offer "conquest" deals – giving a buyer cash for trading in a competitor's vehicle. Those deals aren't usually limited to one company's products, however; FCA's program looks specifically to take advantage of VW's legal and public relations nightmare. FCA isn't the only automaker trying this trick in Italy. Automotive News Europe also reported that Ford is offering approximately $840 in incentives across its entire range to owners of VW vehicles seeking to trade in for a Ford. No word of yet as to whether these incentives will spread beyond Italy or to other automakers.Related Video:
Car-crazy 5-year-old boy writes automakers for treasures, gets big response
Fri, Jan 25 2019Part of the beauty of children is that they can find worth in something adults might deem unworthy or overlook entirely. Five-year-old Patch Hurty didn't see garbage or a broken piece of a car when he spotted a Ford badge lying on the side of a road. He saw an artifact, a souvenir, a start to a collection he could only dream of. Ezra Dyer of Popular Mechanics tells the story of Patch and his quest to turn that one lost badge into a museum of manufacturer logos. According to the article, Hurty is a car fanatic through and through, even using car names as a way of learning to read. After finding the Ford badge near his Connecticut home, he and his mom put together a plan to reach out to dozens of automakers, confessing his love of things on four wheels. In each letter, Patch assembled a picture of himself standing next to one of the cars, and a penny to pay for whatever he hoped was sent his way. The response was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly positive. Of the more than 50 letters he sent out, including to obscure or defunct companies such as Bugatti, Suzuki, and Saturn, a majority responded with warm notes and some type of souvenir. Two of the coolest responses came from Lincoln and Bentley. Lincoln sent a sketch of a Continental (all car lovers enjoy drawing cars, right?), and Bentley sent a wheel center cap. How awesome is that? The story reminds us of something that can easily be lost in all of the negativity involved with the auto industry: Everybody is in this because of a common infatuation with automobiles. For more details on the souvenirs Patch received and accompanying photos, read the rest of the story. Related Video: News Source: Popular Mechanics Read This Bentley Bugatti Ford Lincoln Saturn Suzuki
