1962 FORD FALCON FUTURA ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA BLACK PLATE CAR NO RUST! I AM SELLING FOR A FRIEND. HE IS OLDER NOW AND HAS TROUBLE REMEMBERING DETAILS LIKE WHEN HE BOUGHT THE CAR. LOOKING THRU SOME PAPER WORK ON THIS CAR IT LOOKS LIKE HE GOT IT IN 1999. IT HAD JUST HAD THE ENGINE AND TRANY REBIULT AND HE HASN'T PUT A 1000 MILES ON IT SINCE HE'S HAD IT. HE SAYS HE'S STARTED IT AND DROVE ABOUT A MILE EVERY 2 WEEKS SINCE HE'S HAD IT. THE ENGINE HE SAYS IS A MUSTANG MOTOR THATS WHY I SAID 240 OR WHEN IT WAS RE-BUILT IT WAS BORD OVER I'M NOT SURE. AND THE TRANSMISSION IS A 3-SPEED C-4. I THINK IT WAS A 2 SPEED BECAUSE OF THE DAIL ON THE COLUMN JUST HAS DRIVE AND LOW BUT THE CAR DEFFINITLY HAS A 3 SPEED. OK! WELL;) SINCE HE'S HAD THE CAR ITS BEEN PARKED IN A 30 BY 40 COVERED SHED. NOW HE HAD A FEW THINGS DONE TO THE CAR. HE HAD IT PAINTED AND A NEW VINAL ROOF PUT ON AND NEW CARPET. HE TOOK OUT THE BENCH SEAT AND PUT IN THE AFTER MARKET BUCKET SEATS WITH A FALCON CETER CONSOLE. THE BENCH SEAT WILL GO WITH THE CAR IF YOU WANT IT. THE CAR IS NOW A LIGHT BLUE, IT WAS ORIGINALY WHITE. THE HEAD LINER AND VISERS ARE ORIGINAL WITH NO RIPS OR TEARS, THE DASH IS ALL ORIGINAL AND LOOKS PRETTY GOOD FOR OVER 50 YRS THE DOOR PANALS AND BACK SEAT ARE ALSO ORIGINAL AND DON'T LOOK TO BAD. I'VE PUT ABOUT 50 TO 60 MILES ON THE CAR DROVE IT ON THE INTERSTATE ABOUT 35 MILES AT 60 MPH AND IT CRUIZES NICE NO SHAKING OR VIBRATING TAKES DIPS AND BUMPS GOOD. RUNS REAL STRONG AND SHIFTS GOOD AND DOES NOT SMOKE AT ALL NOT EVEN A LITTLE. EVERY ONE LOVES IT AND YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLES DAD OR UNCLE HAD ONE LIKE IT. THIS CAR IS FAR FROM A SHOW CAR AND HAS LOTS OF LITTLE BLEMISHES AND THINGS THAT WERE NOT DONE PROFESTIONANLY BUT DRVING AND FROM 15 FEET ITS A LOOKER, EVERYONE LOOKS. I ENJOY DRIVING IT. A REAL SOLID CAR. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK. THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Scandal-rocked UAW extends Ford, FCA contracts, prepares to strike GM
Fri, Sep 13 2019DETROIT — Leaders of the United Auto Workers union have extended contracts with Ford and Fiat Chrysler indefinitely, but the pact with General Motors is still set to expire Saturday night. The move puts added pressure on bargainers for both sides as they approach the contract deadline and the union starts to make preparations for a strike. The contract extension was confirmed Friday by UAW spokesman Brian Rothenberg, who declined further comment on the talks. The union has picked GM as the target company, meaning it is the focus of bargaining and would be the first company to face a walkout. GMÂ’s contract with the union is scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. ItÂ’s possible that the four-year GM contract also could be extended or a deal could be reached, but itÂ’s more likely that 49,200 UAW members could walk out of GM plants as early as Sunday because union and company demands are so far apart. Picket line schedules already have been posted near the entrance to one local UAW office in Detroit. Art Wheaton, an auto industry expert at the Worker Institute at Cornell University, expects the GM contract to be extended for a time, but he says the gulf between both sides is wide. “GM is looking through the windshield ahead, and it looks like nothing but land mines,” he said of a possible recession, trade disputes and the expense of developing electric and autonomous vehicles. “I think thereÂ’s really going to be a big problem down the road in matching the expectations of the union and the willingness of General Motors to be able to give the membership what it wants.” Plant-level union leaders from all over the country will be in Detroit on Sunday to talk about the next steps, and after that, the union likely will make an announcement. But leaders are likely to face questions about an expanding federal corruption probe that snared a top official on Thursday. Vance Pearson, head of a regional office based near St. Louis, was charged with corruption in an alleged scheme to embezzle union money and spend cash on premium booze, golf clubs, cigars and swanky stays in California. ItÂ’s the same region that UAW President Gary Jones led before taking the unionÂ’s top office last year. Jones and other union executives met privately at a hotel at Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Friday. After the meeting broke up, JonesÂ’ driver and others physically blocked an AP reporter from trying to approach him to ask questions.
How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers
Fri, 20 Dec 2013Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey
Wed, 09 Jan 2013The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.
