This is a 1968 Pro-Touring Ford Fairlane 500 2dr hardtop. The car has been lowered 3" in the front and 2" in the rear. Has a fresh rebuild on the 5.0L 302cid -V8, new brakes including drums, brake cylinders, metal and rubber lines, brake shoes, master cylinder, etc. Car has new radiator and battery, 4 new shocks and the fuel tank was replaced several years ago. It’s got new Flow Master dual exhaust, the interior has been completely refurbished including both front and rear seats, floor carpet, deck panel, headliner, dash pad, steering wheel, etc.

The Fairlane 500 starts with just a tap of the key and sounds great as well as runs and drives nice. Paint is about 5 years old and still looks great although it’s not perfect and the body is very solid with no signs of rust. All the lights work including hi/low beams, marker lights tail and brake lights, even license plate light, but no radio and no wipers. The 4-way flashers work fine but the turn signal switch needs the "cam" replaced (I have a new one that will go with the car). Also, the car will need some new weather stripping at some point.

The car is sitting on a new set of staggered wheels that are 18" on the front and 20" on the rear and all tires have about 80% tread remaining. The Fairlane 500 is a nice clean solid driver that turns a lot of heads and gets thumbs up everywhere it’s driven. It is a true classic muscle car! Please look at all the photos provided as the pictures are worth a thousand words, what you see is what you are buying! Also, please ask any questions that you have BEFORE the auction has ended as this is a classic car with no warranties and is being sold “as is” and “where is”. Clean and clear title in hand but please note, the car is being listed locally as well so I will end auction early if has been sold.

I am happy to assist winning bidder with making shipping arrangements and I can store the car for a week or two as long as it’s been paid for. I require a $500.00 deposit through PayPal within 24 hours from auctions end and the balance to be paid in no more than 7 days from auction end in cash, or direct wire transfer only. Please contact me BEFORE you bid if you have a feedback score of five (5) or less. Thanks for looking and good luck if you choose to bid.

2013 Ford Explorer Sport

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.

2015 Ford Mustang to make world debut on Dec. 5 [w/video]

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Between a bevvy of spy shots, speculative renders and insidery images from the halls of Car and Driver, we've got a pretty decent idea of what the 2015 Ford Mustang might look like. Still, we're excited to see the real deal as soon as possible.
Turns out that Ford has told us just when that first official look might come, too, although it has chosen somewhat of a backdoor fashion for dropping the news.
The video below popped up on the Ford Mustang YouTube channel this morning, promoting a social media effort called #MustangInspires on. The video and hashtag ask fans of the pony car to share pictures of the car - or "photographic stories of inspiration" - on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But the truly interesting part of the video description is that which mentions taking "the cover off the all-new Mustang" on December 5. Consider our calendars marked.

Next Shelby Mustang to wear GT350 nameplate

Fri, 21 Jun 2013

Earlier this month, rumors started to swirl 'round the web about the next-generation Ford SVT Mustang - the halo version of the all-new 2015 'Stang seen testing in the gallery above. Originally, we heard that the Shelby GT500 moniker would be dumped in favor of "a name you're familiar with," which some sources guessed could mean a return of the Cobra nameplate.
That might not be correct. According to Road & Track, citing a report from Mustangs Daily, the new range-topping Mustang will bring back the Shelby GT350 name - currently used on an aftermarket version of Ford's Pony produced by Shelby American (take a look at our recent Quick Spin of that car). Expect the new GT350 to be quite a bit different than the current GT500 - it will be all motor, using a V8 that's derived from the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote engine (though it will no doubt have a higher displacement). The GT350 will be a lot more powerful than the next Mustang GT, which is expected to offer something like 450 horsepower, but won't be quite as absurd as the 662-horsepower GT500 we currently enjoy.
The Shelby GT350 will reportedly bow with the rest of the new Mustang range at the 2014 New York Auto Show, which coincides exactly with the original Mustang's debut at the New York World's Fair in 1964. If that seems far out, don't worry, we'll be seeing the rest of the 2015 Mustang range before then, but Road & Track reports that the 2014 Detroit Auto Show stage will be reserved for the reveal of the next Ford F-150 pickup.
