1965 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Coupe 347 Cid Automatic Must See! on 2040-cars
Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States

1965 Fairlane 500 originally from North Carolina. This is not a perfect car, but it is pretty close with 71984 original miles. Interior. NEW seat covers, NEW Carpet, NEW Dash Pad. Pictures tell that story. Split bench seat up front. ($1900 invested) Exterior: Painted 8 years ago. Some minor chips and scratches no holes. Only spot that shows signs of wear are in the rt rear quarter. Small bubbles starting on the bottom behind the rear wheel. Not major, just laying it all out there. A quick re paint and you'll have a near perfect exterior. Door handles and trim are all there. Show signs of wear because they are 50 years old... ($5000 Invested) Undercarriage: SOLID SOLID SOLID. Original floor pans and trunk. SOLID FRAME RAILS> All undercoated, but all there. Engine and Tranny: Both Rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. original 289 converted to 347. Procomp Aluminum heads, roller rockers, comp cams thumper cam and lifters. KB pistons, Eagle crank and H beam rods, High rise intake polished, Holley 600 carb, KNN air cleaner, billet valve covers, high volume oil pump, king engine bearings, sealed power rings, pro products harmonic balancer. Tranny is fresh rebuild with 2500 Hughes stall converter. ($5000 Invested) Tires and rims are brand new. ($1800 Invested) I have over 12K invested in this project and my reserve is far less than that. It's funny how the 65 Fairlane was a single year design but everywhere I go, folks come up to me with a story about someone they know owned or had a 65 mustang or galaxie or even yet actually owned one of these rare Fairlanes. This one is not perfect, (8 out of 10) but it holds its own at a car show and cruise. Not a junk old car and well worth the investment. Door jams are clean, doors shut smooth. Just needs a new home. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more info and yes I am open to trades if yours is worth more than mine and it's an old muscle car or hot rod or 1950's ford pick up! Ford Claims Focus As World's Best-Selling Car For Second Year In A Row
Mon, Jan 27 2014Ford Motor Co. has claimed its Focus sedan beat out the Toyota Corolla for the title of 'best-selling car in the world' for the second year in a row. The declaration was based on independent sales figures from January to September of 2013, according to USA Today. Last year, Ford used data from the analysis firm Polk to support its claim of having the best-selling car of 2012. Toyota objected, stating the Corolla sold more units. The numbers eventually showed that the Ford Focus was the best selling nameplate of the year, but may have been second to the Toyota sedan overall since multiple variations of the Corolla are sold under different nameplates around the world. Data from the analysis firm R.L. Polk found Focus registrations from January through September 2013 reached 856,587. Ford can thank booming car sales in China, where the automaker sold 303,481 units, for a sizable chunk of that number, which was a 16 percent increase over 2012. "Our success with Focus is the result of Ford's connection to our customers all over the world," said Jim Farley, an executive vice president at Ford. The Focus and Corolla both compete in the popular small sedan segment, along with other hot-selling cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. These vehicles make a up a large portion of sales for their respective automakers, as they tend to hit a sweet spot for many consumers, coming with a starting sticker price under $20,000, solid fuel economy, plenty of cargo and passenger room and, lately, sharp exterior design and sportier driving dynamics.
