I have decided to sell my 69 Ford F-100 Ranger 2x4 shorty. I have always loved old Ford pick-ups and bought this one 1 1/2 years ago at the F-100 Nationals in TN. I am part owner of an auto restoration shop in Cookeville, TN. and was there with a 67 Ranger long bed that we entered with that we had completed in time for the show. That truck took first place in class and had a 7 page magazine article written about it. Yes I know Ford trucks. This one was for sale by an elderly gentleman that loved it and had it for many years. I bought it because it is a cool 99% rust free Ford truck and I know what it would cost to put one in this condition if there were professional restoration services needed to be done. I am too busy with other businesses to find time to go out end enjoy this truck and have put minimal mileage on it since I have owned it. It has been in temperature control storage. Since I have owned truck it has always had 93 Octane Non-ethanol fuel.
The motor is a 1972 390 service block (heavy duty) ribbed FE with 4 Holley 4 barrel. I have all the receipts when the motor was built and the older gentleman used mostly NOS Ford High performance parts including cam. This truck runs awesome, sounds great and is powerful. I don't know how many miles are on the motor but the odometer says 004011 for the truck. I would suspect it is at 104012. I have decoded the door tag and this truck came with 360 2-V auto and 3.25 :1 rear gears. The C-6 that is in it shifts perfect and the drive train is solid. The truck was built in Canada and came Wimbledon White. The ex-owner said he two toned it. The interior is original to the truck with Zero tears, cuts or wear spots on seat. The only bad is someone put speakers in the lower doors.
The A/C is cold, cold and appears to be dealer installed. The tire have very low miles put on them and the wheel combo fits and grows on you. I took this to a car show and drag race a month ago and every where it went in town or down the interstate there were many thumbs up. This is a beautiful stock truck for the weekend driver and with minor little things it could be a knock out cruiser.
This F-100 is for sale locally (not a inexpensive truck but very affordable) and I reserve all right to shut auction down any time. This truck is very fairly priced and no disappointments expected and is exactly has described. There is money owed against it and all transaction will go through local bank holding the note.
A couple pictures are blurry but I put them here because I am not close enough to drive over to it and retake. There are pic's of cab mounts and underneath, and the oil pressure gauge shows high oil pressure. The under shots are to show that this truck is the 99% rust free I mentioned above. One pic is Australian Shepard was worried she might be left and would not get out. If you win and for any reason you are dissatisfied I will refund all monies. Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
Ford recalls Explorer and Lincoln MKC for fire hazard
Thu, Mar 31 2016The Basics: Ford will recall 5,536 examples of the 2016 Explorer and 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC. The Explorers have build dates between October 20, 2014, and January 28, 2016, at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The MKCs are from between November 25, 2013, and January 25, 2016, at the Louisville Assembly Plant. In total, there are 3,129 total affected examples of the 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 examples of the 2016 Ford Explorer. Of these, 1,543 are in the US and 3,993 are in Canada. The Problem: The combination of the engine block design and the block heater in these vehicles can cause the part to overheat when plugged in. Injuries/Deaths: None reported, but there are two cases of underhood fires in Canada. If you own one: Ford will begin notifying owners during the week of May 16, company spokesperson John Cangany tells Autoblog. Related Video: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to replace engine block heaters Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 5,500 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to remove the heaters and replace them with an updated design. The engine block design, coupled with the particular block heater installed in these vehicles, causes the unit to be susceptible to overheating when the vehicle is parked and the block heater is plugged in –increasing the risk of an underhood fire. Ford is aware of two reports of underhood fires in Canada, but is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC vehicles built at Louisville Assembly Plant, Nov. 25, 2013 through Jan. 25, 2016 and certain 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, Oct. 20, 2014 through Jan. 28, 2016. There are 5,536 vehicles affected by the issue, including 3,129 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles, with 1,543 of the affected vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 3,993 in Canada. Dealers will remove and replace the engine block heater with an updated design and, if needed, replace the cord at no cost to the customer.
