More infos regarding my car at: tamisha.curt@isonews2.com . This is a fully loaded 2004 Ford Excursion with the 6.0 L diesel.

-Limited package with all the power options
-Immaculately maintained and serviced (oil changed every 2,500 - 3,000 miles since I bought it new in 2004)
-10,500 lb. towing capacity (great, very stable towing vehicle)
-Propane boost/assist (not an alternate fuel system, this is an assist and kicks-in when the vacuum pulls at a specific level. This is adjustable to your liking.) Controlled by on/off toggle in front of driver.
-Bullet Proof oil system installed 6 months ago. New head bolts were installed at the same time. This was done before any of the issues from the old oil system occurred. The engine is perfect!
-All cylinders inspected during the Bullet Proof install and they are immaculate.
-All 8 injectors have less than 2,000 miles on them. All replaced at same time so engine would not have to be opened numerous times.
-Towing receiver installed in front is terrific for bike racks when towing a boat or other trailer behind.
-Lights on push bar in front are terrific for long drives at night.
-Kenwood audio/visual touch screen deck feeds two amplifiers, which in turn feed six, 6-8 Kenwood speakers (three down each side of the truck), and the subwoofer (3 downward-firing 12" subs). This system sounds better than most of my friends' home stereo system.
-Sirius XM input
-Apple iPhone/iPod input as well, located in center console
-Boss video screen is fed by either the DVD in the Kenwood deck or an Apple iPad connector in the center console
-Four sets of wireless headphones for the video system
-Michelin tires have barely 5,000 miles on them.
-Leather inside is in great condition, except one wear spot on the driver's seat (not the back) and the driver's arm rest. I purchased a set of front seat covers from Cal-Trend (the "I can't believe it's not leather" product) to make it look better and to stop the wearing, and they turned out nicely. I have only used these two pieces of the cover set, the backs and the passenger seat bottom don't need them.
-Straight tracking - take your hands off the wheel on a good surface and she just goes...
-Steering - all bushings and anything else that is rubber or plastic in any part of the steering system, have been replaced in the last year. These items seem to last for one decade in the AZ heat, then they are gone, and these have all been replaced.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
