2003 Ford Excursion 4x4 7.3 Diesel Lifted on 2040-cars
Milan, Michigan, United States
For sale is my personal 2003 Excursion 7.3 powerstroke diesel 4x4. It features a 6in lift kit with dual steering stabilizers. 20in RBP wheels with 35in mud terrains(60% life). Muffler delete straight through exhaust with black 4in RBP exhaust tip. Edge power programmer with 3 stages of tunability. Custom cold air intake with huge WIX filter. This beast still averages 15mpg and gets 18mpg plus on the highway. Has all the power you'd need to pull anything. It drives great, shifts great and stops well. It has a custom mesh grille with painted to match white shell as well as all the body cladding, bumpers and mirrors, they too have been professionally painted factory Ford YZ white. Tinted glass. The leather interior is in excellent shape. it does have some minor cracking on edge of drivers seat as you can see in the pictures and a small cracked open area on drivers armrest. The carpets are like new and it has Husky liner mats in the front, second row and very rear area. It is loaded with interior options including rear DVD and headsets for the kids. 3rd row seat provides seating for 8 total. The overall paint on the truck is in excellent shape and it has just been buffed out. The thing looks awesome and gets looks wherever it goes. I'm the second owner and it came from an older couple, it was the wifes truck and really had never anyone in the back seats, let alone towed anything until I got it. I hate to sell it but I've decided to go with something else and it has to go to do that. It has under 189,000 miles and I have meticulously maintained every aspect of the truck including regular fuel and oil filter changes and Rotella oil. 4wd works fine. AC blows cold. Every function works excellent except for the cd player, it sometimes will not load so I am throwing in the Kenwood DVD player/cd stereo I purchased for it. I know there are cheaper ones out there but this is not some cheezy, old school lifted Excursion. I am super anal about my stuff. This truck sits right, looks right, wheels fit right. Everything. Its the whole package. The 7.3 diesel is the best one out there...period. I looked high and low to find this one. Please keep this in mind when looking at 04-05 with the 6.0. They're not comparable. This is the latest possible model with the 7.3. If you have any questions about something I havn't mentioned please feel free to call me directly at 734-260-9787. I will be as helpful as possible in finding this baby a new home! Thanks for looking.

Average transaction prices climb to a record $36,270 in January
Sat, Feb 3 2018The automotive sector made a hash of the numbers last month, a mess of pluses and minuses clogging the transaction-price charts according to Kelley Blue Book. The overall industry rose one percent, even though buyers bought fewer cars and light vehicles in January 2018 vs 2017 using the selling-day adjusted rate. Due to January transaction prices rising to $36,270, a record for January, the value of new vehicles sold climbed more than $1 billion compared to January 2017. KBB's transaction prices don't include customer incentives, which changes the complexion slightly; average incentive spending rose to just over ten percent. The average transaction price in December 2017 was $36,756, so January dropped a bit - nothing unexpected, with the month annually blamed for "January doldrums." More revealing is the fact that the average transaction price in January 2017 was $34,910. This year's plumped-up figure came courtesy of the continued shift to crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's read an automotive blog in the past 20 years. That category comprised nearly 70 percent of new vehicle sales for the month. Some manufacturers profited more than others, though. Fiat Chrysler managed 12.8 percent fewer sales in January compared year-on-year, but the company's vehicles sold for $1,300 more. The Ford brand suffered a 6.3-percent dip in sales, but brand transaction prices increased $2,000, while a Lincoln sold for $8,700 more on average. General Motors sold more cars and sold them for more money; overall GM transaction prices rose four percent, or $1,270, while a GMC traded hands for seven-percent more than in January 2017 and a Cadillac got $2,300 more on average. Of KBB's listed automakers, the Volkswagen Group got the most of out its customers, transaction prices rising at the German automaker by 5.6 percent to $42,243 in January 2018 compared to a year earlier. American Honda followed with a 4.3-percent increase to $28,991, GM in third at 4.1 percent to $40,313. Find your next car at Autoblog using our new and used car listings or the Car Finder tool. Broken out by segment, minivans rocked the table, transaction prices leaping by 7.9 percent to $35,380 compared to January a year earlier. Luxury cars boasted the next-highest rise, at 3.6 percent to $58,533.
How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
Ford confirms launch of new Tourneo vans and Ecosport in Europe for Geneva
Sun, 24 Feb 2013We've already seen plenty of what the Geneva Motor Show will have in store for us in less than two weeks, but most of the confirmed debuts that were announced so far have generally been luxury or performance cars. Ford, on the other hand, will be showing off a couple of its new family-friendly models for European buyers to enjoy.
On the larger side of things, the full range of Tourneo vans (shown above) will be on display, including the introduction of the new Tourneo Courier model, but Ford will also be showing off the all-new EcoSport crossover, which is based on the automaker's Global B platform and will be positioned beneath the Kuga, better known here as the Escape. The subcompact EcoSport was originally unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last April.
