Low Mileage E-150 Conversion Van / Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
West Bloomfield, Michigan, United States

For sale is our family vacation vehicle. This one is fully loaded. The reason for the sale is children grown and simply have too many cars to make use of the van. It is mechanically sound and has never let us down on trips, it runs extremely strong and has very low miles for its year. We are the original owners and have kept up maintenance on the vehicle.
Included: An analog TV and VHS player, dual radios, ample room with a high-top roof and glass sky-lights, 1st and 2nd row captains chairs and 3rd row bench that converts into a bed, also equipped are dome/window/reading/and valance lights, cigarette lighter, privacy shades, tinted privacy glass, a first aid kit, tire repair/full sized spare kit, and the optional tow package, van also has multiple overhead storage compartments standard, multiple power ports as well as AV and Video connectors, rear radio has the option for listening through headphones through jacks located near all the cup-holders. Pros: The car spent all of its 94,500 miles on the freeway, as we drove to Florida with it during vacation for our children. It has all of it's oil changes done per schedule every 5,000 miles and maintenance as needed per the owners manual. The van also has a host of new drive-train parts, from a whole new rear axle, to new brakes and fluids. Everything has been done to ensure the next owners enjoy it as much as we have and all done as preventative maintenance. NEVER SMOKED IN! This van was a strict family vehicle and has never seen smoke although it was originally equipped with the smokers package. Cons: It has been stored outside its whole life, so it has some small paint touch up and a crack in the rear bumper, a small dent in the rear door, and a broken rear passenger side skirt/step. All of these repairs together shouldn't cost much, we simply have no use for the car and further investment is pointless. At most it needs a little touching up, it is in excellent condition for its age and reflects it as well. This is an as-is sale with no warranties implied or given. |

Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
Ford exec reveals new F-150 Raptor packs 450 horsepower
Mon, Jan 26 2015Between the new GT supercar, Shelby GT350R muscle car and F-150 Raptor off-roader, Ford had quite the array of performance machinery on display at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. One thing it didn't reveal about any of the three, however, is how much power they'd pack, but a senior executive at the Blue Oval automaker has reportedly let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the Raptor. During a televised interview during the Rolex 24 at Daytona this past weekend, Ford's product development chief Raj Nair is said to have revealed that the new F-150 Raptor will offer 450 horsepower. That's pretty impressive from a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, and would put the new Raptor out ahead of the 411 hp produced by the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 in the previous SVT Raptor. That doesn't give us the whole picture, though, because in a vehicle this big especially, torque will play a huge factor. The outgoing Raptor offered 424 pound-feet of twist, and the existing 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is already producing 420 lb-ft – so it seems fairly safe to assume the new Raptor will eclipse those figures as well, but we'll have to wait for official word to find out for sure. Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage
Mon, 17 Mar 2014There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
