Here it is, your new winter project. 1974 Bronco Barn FInd. All original, but rough. Typical rust in driver's floor, inner front fenders and in front and behind the rear wheel wells. Pass floor looks good. Back bed and under seats are solid. Door pillars are solid. Doors solid. Windshield and top are solid. Plenty of dents, but repairable. Smacked in the front end and put away in a barn in 1995. Front fenders/hood/grill are trashed.  Radiator support is bent but looks to be repairable. Tailgate kissed a tree when it was down. Still closes. Never repainted.  Used exclusively for hunting and barn kept from 1985 through 1995. Last street driven in 1985.  RUNS, AND DRIVES AND STOPS!!!!! I have only driven this down the street and back and it drives like it has been in a barn for 20 years. It's going to need sorting, but it's all there! Fires right up! Tires look be original Firestone snow tires. No spare. Same family owned from 1975. Clear Michigan title.

Prices for early Broncos have been going up every year. This one is a great candidate for restoration. I purchased this from the niece of the owner and she confirmed the history. She also mentioned that the first owner who acquired it new was Eleanor Ford, from the Edsel Ford estate. Could be, but can't confirm. Original Warranty Facts Book and Ownercard included. We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.

Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.
