1989 Ferrari Testarossa With Just 1707 Miles on 2040-cars
Hellertown, Pennsylvania, United States
You are viewing a very well maintained, well documented, three owner 1989 Ferrari Testarossa with just 1,707 genuine original miles in a very desirable red over black color combination. A comprehensive 30K engine out service was completed in September, 2011 at 1,475 miles. The engine and entire engine bay were profesionally detailed at that time while the engine was out of the car. A thorough minor service including a new battery, all fluids, brake hoses, thermocoupler ECUs as well as the seat belt recall was completed in November of 2013. The car starts and runs without fault. The car is complete with all books, tools, and service records as well as the original key fob. The as new factory original wheels still mounted with the 1989 original Goodyear tires, as shown in the last photo, were removed for protection and proper storage off the car and replaced with a set of refinished factory 512 TR rims. These 512 TR wheels have new OEM valve stems and center caps and are mounted with brand new Goodyear tires for the mild road use the car has seen under my ownership. Of course, the original wheels and tires go with the car as well as a brand new car cover and three sets of floor mats (original and two after market). The all original Ferrari factory panel gaps and shut lines on the body are some of the best I have seen on a vintage Ferrari. The paint work is original and there has been no dye work to the interior. This is a true survivor, genuine 1,707 mile 1989 TR in a very well maintained and immaculate state of preservation. Thank you. |

Infographic: Comparing the Veneno, LaFerrari and P1 supercars
Sat, 16 Mar 2013This year's Geneva Motor Show served as the launch platform for three of the world's latest and greatest supercars. The Italians brought us the Lamborghini Veneno and the Ferrari LaFerrari, while the British unveiled the production version of the McLaren P1.
To put the three in better perspective - as if any of us will ever fully comprehend trio of million dollar coupes - the Aussies at Motoring.com built an infographic (click above to enlarge) that outlines what makes each of these cars so spectacular. Using unique colors to represent each of the vehicles, the team put together a variety of charts that focus on vital statistics, pricing, total production run and other parameters all designed to ease the process of digesting an overabundance of exotic goodness. We have uploaded the graphic full size in this link.
Custom-built Ferrari 412 is not easy on the eyes
Thu, Mar 31 2016The 1989 Ferrari 412 Pavesi Ventorosso is a one-off topless creation from Carrozzeria Pavesi, which isn't the most well-known Italian coachbuilder in history. Ventorosso stands for "Red Wind", which brings a tear to one's eye – much like the 'improvements' to the bodywork. To begin with, the front end isn't all that bad. The headlights seem to have been grabbed from the then-new Citroen XM, and they are far less squinty than the lights originally complementing the 412's pop-ups. But the further toward the rear you go, the more it all falls apart, as the rear end treatment inexplicably combines round 412 taillights with a black, Testarossa-like plastic slatting above them. The complete car is somehow similar to the Michelotti-designed Reliant Scimitar SS1, which is undeniably also a product of its time. Still, the 18,641-mile car is mentioned to be in perfect condition inside and out, and that has resulted in a nearly $137,000-price tag by the seller, Maranello Service in Calvatone, Italy. It is also noteworthy that the 5.0-liter Colombo V12 is mated to a manual gearbox, which isn't always the case with 400i/412 models. And the best thing? You cannot see the exterior when driving it. Driver, track worker survive horrific Ferrari 458 crash at Suzuka
Tue, 14 May 2013Two people are lucky to be alive after a brutal crash during a recent Ferrari 458 Challenge event in Japan. Driver Shigeru Terajima lost control of his machine on the Suzuka Circuit start/finish straight, left the course at nearly 200 miles per hour and struck the inside wall where a corner worker was standing and monitoring the race. The 458 immediately disintegrated, sending bits of carbon fiber bodywork, suspension components, wheels and tires scattering into the infield and across the race course. The passenger cell spun through the air before coming to a stop on its roof.
Miraculously, both Terajima and the corner worker survived the incident. While the driver was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, he's expected to make a full recovery. The track worker, meanwhile, saw the incident coming and dove out of harm's way at the last possible moment, saving him from the brunt of the impact.
