Ferrari FF coupe plans found in European patent application

The FF is quite a departure for Ferrari - it's the company's first hatchback and all-wheel-drive vehicle - so it isn't surprising that it rubs some people the wrong way, even if the car itself is very good. Well, judging from these patent drawings of what looks like a FF coupe filed with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), Ferrari has plans to build one.
We're not sure if Ferrari is planning a production run, however, and it's very possible this is a one-off special being built for a very rich customer, a la Eric Clapton and his 458 Italia. Patent drawings of Clapton's special 458 were filed with OHIM before it was finished, as well.
We think the regular FF is a good-looking car as is, but would welcome a coupe version if it looked like the one in these drawings. It could be a great alternative to the F12 Berlinetta for people who want all-wheel drive and a lower profile.

Finding a classic Ferrari or a Porsche locked away for decades inside a dusty barn is a story that, while not exactly common, is not unheard of. Finding a Ferrari parked inside a one-bedroom apartment in West Hollywood, California, is a totally different matter. That's exactly where the new owner of this Ferrari 250 GT PF Coupe found his new project. Petrolicious has the full story on how this half-restored car ended up locked away inside this unlikely tomb for the past 30 or so years. Needless to say, it wasn't easy getting a car inside an apartment that only has a single, standard-looking door. Despite sitting on jack stands with no engine, no wheels, and non-functional brakes, the car is in surprisingly good condition. Take a video tour of the Ferrari F12 TdF's V12 engine

Ferrari's transformation of the F12 Berlinetta from a handsome GT into a road-devouring monster – the F12 TdF – seems impressive. To make sure the engine has a wail to match the threatening exterior, the Italians massaged the 6.3-liter V12 up to 769 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque. It now redlines at a screaming 8,900 rpm, and propels the coupe to 62 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. This new video takes viewers inside the upgraded mill to illustrate how these improvements were made. Among the host of changes, the intake receives variable-geometry intake trumpets.
