Dodge Power Wagon is pretty much the most awesome truck you can buy. It is off road ready and willing to work all day, every day.

It's not just a standard Ram 2500 4x4, from the factory it includes:

  • Electronically controlled locking differentials (front and rear)
  • Electronically disconnecting sway bar (front)
  • Integrated 12,000 lb electric Warn winch
  • 17 inches Alcoa forged wheels with bead saver
  • Bilstein Monotube Gas Charged Shocks
  • Rock protection: Rock sliders and full skid plates under the truck
  • 4.56:1 gears axle gears
  • A heavy duty manual 2.72:1 low gear transfer case
  • Larger 36 gal fuel tank
  • Off road recovery gear

This truck also has:

  • 35" Goodyear DuraTrac Tires
  • Full size 35" matching spare tire
  • Thuren fabrication high clearence control arms
  • Thuren fabrication lift springs
  • Thuren fabrication adjustable track bar
  • Bilstein front 5100 shocks
  • Dual 7" HID offroad lights
  • iPod/iPhone stereo integration - play music from your iPhone while charging it
  • WeatherTech matched floor mats ($300!)
  • Rock Crusher super duty iron differential covers
  • I do have the factory differential covers, control arms, springs, and track bar if wanted

At 60,000 miles, over $2,000 of maintenance and upgraded parts:
All new steering components (drag link and tie rod and ball joints)
Dynatrac extreme duty rebuildable ball joints for the steering knuckles
Full service including all fluids: spark plugs, plug wires, accessory belts, coolant, differential fluids, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid

This truck has every option!

  • Leather seats
  • Navigation
  • Heated seats
  • Block heater
  • Power seats
  • Power rear sliding window

The truck is in very good shape. There is only the usual amount of wear that you would expect for a vechicle of it's age. No major repairs ever needed, no major damage or accidents. Always had scheduled maintenance, and very well maintained outside of that. I am the 2nd owner, and a non-smoker with a very clean interior.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.

Will Dodge limit 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat to 1,200 units?

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile.
That's because, according to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production - in the first year, at least - to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger.
Reached for comment, SRT spokesman Dan Reid told Autoblog that "there is no plan to limit production of the Challenger Hellcat," echoing the words of Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis who told Edmunds: "We don't know what the market demand is." Which doesn't mean that it won't restrict production, but doesn't mean that it will, either. It just hasn't decided yet - or announced any such decision, at any rate - over what will be the final allocation strategy for what could be a game-changing muscle car. That is, at least, until new versions of the Mustang and Camaro come along in pursuit of Dodge's bragging rights...

Auto Mergers and Acquisitions: Suicide or salvation?

Tue, Sep 8 2015

We love the Moses figure. A savior riding in from stage right with the ideas, the smarts, and the scrappiness to put things right. Alan Mullaly. Carroll Shelby. Lee Iacocca. Andrew Carnegie. Steve Jobs. Elon Musk. Bart Simpson. Sergio Marchionne does not likely view himself with Moses-like optics, but the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently gave a remarkable, perhaps prophetic interview with Automotive News about his interest and the inevitability of merging with a potential automotive partner like General Motors. Marchionne has been overtly public about his notion that GM must merge with FCA. For a bit of context, GM sold 9.9 million vehicles in 2014, posting $2.8 billion in net income, while FCA sold 4.75 million units and earned $2.4 billion in net income, painting a very rosy FCA earnings-to-sales picture. But that's not the entire picture. Most people in the auto industry still remember the trainwreck that was the DaimlerChrysler "merger" written in what turned out to be sand in 1998. It proved to be a master class in how not to fuse two companies, two cultures, two continents, and two management teams. Oh, it worked for the two individuals at both helms pre-merger. They got silly rich. And the industry itself was in a misty romance at the time with mergers and acquisitions. BMW bought Rolls-Royce. Volkswagen Group bought Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, putting all three brands into their rightful place in both products and positioning. No marriages there, so no false pretense. Finally, Nissan and Renault got married in 1999. A successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust. But a successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust, the principle part being honesty. Daimler and Chrysler lied to each other. The heads of each unit, the product planners, and finance all presented their then-current and long-range forecasts to each other with less-than-forthright accuracy. Daimler was the far greater equal and no one from the Chrysler side enjoyed that. The cultures were entirely different, too, and little was done to bridge that gap. Which brings me back to the present overtures by Marchionne to GM. "There are varying degrees of hugs," Marchionne stated in the Automotive News piece. "I can hug you nicely, I can hug you tightly, I can hug you like a bear, I can really hug you." Seriously?
