2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets brace of new videos

Wed, 21 May 2014

Yesterday's big announcement focusing on the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat had plenty of stuff going for it - information, pictures and the rabid enthusiasm that always accompanies such an eagerly anticipated reveal. What it was lacking, though, was a proliferation of videos of the new model.
Sure, yesterday's news came with one clip, but today, Dodge has come through with five videos. We've arranged them in what we think will be the most entertaining order, covering the powertrain, before moving on to exterior and interior design, then on to a full CGI dissection of the SRT Hellcat before capping things off with a piece on the non-supercharged Challenger SRT392.
Take a look below for all five videos, then head into Comments and let us know what you think.

Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.

Dodge supercharges the national anthem with 8,950 horsepower

Mon, Jun 29 2020

With a video titled "Let Freedom Rev," Dodge teases its upcoming lineup for the 2021 model year, all of which will be fully revealed on July 2. We'll have all the details for you on that day, but there's some interesting news to glean from an accompanying statement from Tim Kuniskis, who serves as the head of Dodge and SRT. “The sound of a screaming supercharged HEMI is so distinctive that this teaser video doesnÂ’t need a single image ... if you know, you know. Tune in July 2 to celebrate with Dodge the pursuit of life, liberty and 8,950 horsepower.” Reading between the lines, it seems that Kuniskis is saying the total horsepower figure for the entire 2021 Dodge lineup will equal 8,950 ponies. Draw your own conclusions, but that cryptic statement's focus on power ought to be enough to get enthusiasts excited for more. The video may be short on moving pictures, but its soundtrack is the star. The "Star-Spangled Banner," that is. This particular rendition of the U.S. national anthem was produced using sounds of Dodge's high-performance lineup, complete with engine revs, upshifts, downshifts and plenty of supercharger whine. Check it out above, and stay tuned for more. Related Video:
