1965 Dodge Power Wagon Fire Truck, 250 gpm pump, equipment for fighting wildfires, or serving beer. Two seperate tanks, combined hold 150 Gallons of water, or two half barrels of beer. Tanks are insulated for ice and beverage storage, water, or both. Truck was refurbished in 2005. Paint is substantially good, but needs touch-up on floor areas. The hood and fenders can be buffed back to full color. All equipment shown stays with the truck and is in great shape. Tires are 80%, standard 9.00-16.00 Good Year  Hi-Miler mud and snows with a "D" range. The 16,930 miles are original miles. All major components (engine, trans, tranfer case, etc) are the original components that were on the truck when it was built. I am the second owner of the truck, it came to directly from the fire company that was the original owner. The truck is geared low, (5.83 gears) and does a max speed of 45mph. The engine runs like a top once it warms up. No engine issues at all. The carb may need a rebuild at some point, but works fine otherwise. The clutch and tranmission are excellent, it shifts very smoothly, if you know how to drive a Power Wagon. (standard NP435 with syncros) Brakes are good, but bleed down if the truck is not run after about a month. The brake booster is not original to the truck and was added before I owned it, but is needed to stop it when fully loaded. (the truck is heavy!) Winch and PTO work excellent, it has been used to move things and pull things, but never the truck itself since I have owned it. I did not take this truck off road since I have owned it, and has been cared for in a great way. It has been moved outside and needs to be stored inside somewhere else, and that's why I am selling it. No room anymore. The driver's seat will need to be rebuilt, as will the bottom cushion for that seat. The truck will need a few dabs of paint here and there, but is ready for any parade, picnic, show, or general task requiring a strong truck with a winch. Included in the sale are 2-18 foot chains with hooks,(10k lbs) and 8k lbs snatch block. Winch has 150+ feet of 7/16 wire rope. Siren works good, but has no siren brake. Locking hubs on the front axle make the drive alot better, they are included.  The truck has been a big hit at concerts in Philadelphia, Eagles games, fire company wet-downs and musters, benefits of all sorts, the list goes on. I will assist in any way for transportation of the truck, but expences and arrangements are entirely on the buyer. The truck is available for inspection by appointment ONLY. Do NOT show up expecting to see it when I am not here! Read this part again to be sure you understand! Any questions or appointments can be forwarded to me through ebay, or my phone number.....609-859-5433. I hope this truck finds a good home, good luck bidding. Last note....the truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.

The Dodge Neon is coming back... to Mexico

Tue, Mar 15 2016

It's been a long time since we've seen a new Dodge Neon putt-putting around. But soon it will be back, and in North America, too, if you want to get technical about it. But this time, the Neon will be limited exclusively to Mexico. According to Ward's Auto, FCA is planning to import the Fiat Tipo to Mexico, but rebadged under the Dodge brand and with the Neon nameplate on the trunk... even if it doesn't have those signature round headlights, or a three-speed automatic transmission. Never heard of the Fiat Tipo? It debuted almost a year ago as the Aegea Project, and went into production shortly thereafter – similarly called the Egea in Turkey where it's made, but the Tipo in other European markets. It's a budget-oriented, C-segment compact with a range of four-cylinder engines, and though designed from the get-go as a four-door sedan, it rolled into Geneva last month in hatchback and wagon forms as well. The Tipo is built at the Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey, alongside the Fiat Doblo – which is also shipped over to North America, rebadged as the Ram ProMaster City. In the Mexican market, FCA also sells the Fiat Siena sedan as the Dodge Vision, the Mitsubishi Mirage rebadged as the Dodge Attitude, and the Fiat Strada as the Ram 700 – all nameplates exclusive to our neighbors to the south. Whatever its origin, it'll be interesting to see a Neon again the next time we venture South of the Border – particularly considering that the Neon was arguably the last time that Chrysler had a competitive compact on its hands. The Caliber that followed never gained the same kind of traction, so to speak, and FCA recently ceased production (for the time being at least) of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 to focus on larger trucks crossovers – the likes of which the Caliber tried to emulate (in style, if not in substance).

Hennessey Dodge Demon sets hellishly fast quarter-mile time

Wed, May 9 2018

The Dodge Demon doesn't strike us as a muscle car much in need of a performance makeover. After all, this 840-horsepower MoPar machine's voracious quest for straight-line speed means it trims weight by jettisoning everything from a front passenger seat and rear seat, to its stereo and all carpeting in the trunk. The folks at Hennessey apparently think that's not nearly extreme enough. So, the Texas-based tuning outfit has turned the Demon into a 1,035-horsepower mega beast that runs a quarter-mile in 9.14 seconds at 152 mph. That's fast, really fast. In fact, the HPE1000 is now the world's fastest Dodge Demon, having set its record-setting pace at Lonestar Motorsports Park on May 8. "The 2018 Demon is a street-legal rocket from Dodge, but we wanted to take the car's impressive track times to an industry leading level." said president and company founder, John Hennessey. For comparison, the stock Dodge Demon is credited with running the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. The main HPE1000 modification involves replacing the stock 2.7-liter supercharger with one that's a staggering 4.5-liters in capacity. Also included in the Hennessey toy-chest are stainless steel long tube headers, a high-flow air induction system, upgraded throttle body, upgraded fuel pump and fuel injectors, along with custom engine management calibration. When all is said and done, the HPE1000 Dodge Demon delivers a total of 1,035 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 948 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm. While the standard Demon accelerates from 0-60 mph in only 2.3 seconds, the Hennessey variant trims this down to only 1.9 seconds. That's quick enough to make a Bugatti Chiron blush. Hennessey hasn't stated what all this will cost, though the company did say production of these devilishly fast Demons will be limited to only 50 examples. Customers also receive a 1-year/12,000-mile warranty, which seems a nice touch for a car that's downright scary with its performance specs. Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.
