All original, unrestored driver. This truck was bought new by the Bordens Milk Co. in NYC. It was a tow truck used to recover their broken DIVCO delivery trucks. The lettering is still visible on the doors. It was sold off to a private owner in upstate NY in the late 70s. It later found its way down to a NJ farm where it sat for many years in the barn. This is what helped to preserve the truck so well. It is all complete and all original to the best of my knowledge. I have removed and stored the tow boom to make it into a regular pickup. The rear crash bumper was removed and scrapped. Clean NJ title.

The cab is very solid. The only cab rust that exists is in the right boot cowl. Its at the bottom edge and is a very easy repair. The front fenders are solid as is the hood. The rear fenders have been patched several times over the years. The running boards are in good shape. The bed is also in good shape, but needs a new bed floor and strips. These are easily procurable through Vintage Powerwagon or MarKay. The tailgate needs some rust repair or replacement. I have a used tailgate to replace it. All the lights and accessories work with the exception of the wipers and gas gauge. The front bumper has the Braden winch mounted, but i never finshed installing the remaining parts to get it working. i have everything but cable. The interior needs to be restored however all the original hardwear and trim is included. as well as the original Budd lugnut wrench and jack!

The drive line i belive to be original to the truck. The engine runs great. No smoke or noises. It runs nice in all temperatures. It has the original "rare" overflow coolant tank. The brake master cyl was rebuilt as well as the power brake booster. The brake assemblies where all cleaned lubed and reassembled with new wheel cyls. These brakes work awsome. The gear box is solid and has a synco between 2nd and 3rd. The 4x4 works great and the front axle has unlockable hubs. The tires are in good shape and all hold air. The stearing is nice and tight as well as the front end. No wobbles or noise.

This truck is running and driving perfect. I was enjoying this truck as a survior and was taking it to many car shows. She brought home a couple of survior trophies too. This is the perfect powerwagon to enjoy and restore down the road, or tear right in and make it a pristine example! I had all intetions of keeping this forever, but life gets in the way sometimes.

Im not desperate to sell. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. But please dont waste my time and yours if you are just kicking tires.

Thank you

How to update and secure a vulnerable Chrysler Uconnect system

Sat, Jul 25 2015

If you own one of the 1.4 million vehicles affected by the recent Chrysler software recall, you may want to watch this video. In it, we explain how to get the latest infotainment software loaded onto the 8.4-inch Uconnect system. The recall was a response to the findings of researchers who were able to hack into and remotely control a 2014 Jeep Cherokee through its cellular connection. Although Fiat Chrysler has worked with Sprint to plug most of the holes on the carrier side, there are still some vulnerabilities that only this latest software version can patch. Owners have three options to get the update: download it now, wait for a USB stick in the mail, or take the vehicle to an FCA dealer. Chrysler will be sending USB sticks loaded with the software update to customers. Anyone with an internet connection and a USB stick of their own with at least 4 GB capacity can speed things up by downloading the patch from the Uconnect website. We cover that process from start to finish in the video, with the final portion still applicable to those using the FCA-supplied USB stick. If after watching this you still don't want to tackle the patch yourself, you can take your vehicle to the dealer to have it done. Also note that this process is the same for all Uconnect updates, not just the one patching the exploits. Our demonstrator vehicle is a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup. The procedure should be very similar on other products with the 8.4-inch Uconnect system, with only the location of the USB port varying. Once you have the USB stick with the software on it – either after having downloaded it yourself or receiving it in the mail from Chrysler – the installation process is relatively simple. It takes about 15 minutes to perform the update; we edited out the wait in the video. To check whether or not your car's 8.4-inch Uconnect system is running the latest software, go to System Information on the touch screen's Settings page and look at Software Version. The update related to the recall is version 15.17.5. Related Video: Recalls Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Safety Technology Infotainment Videos Original Video hacking

2019 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Grand Caravan 35th Anniversary Editions debut in Chicago

Mon, Feb 4 2019

Just ahead of the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, FCA revealed a pair of special editions to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the original Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager. The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Hybrid and Dodge Grand Caravan 35th Anniversary Edition models will make their full debut this week sporting special badging and paint. Since the original 1984 models debuted, Chrysler has sold more than 14.6 million minivans around the world. Chrysler introduced the original Caravan and Voyager in late 1983. The pair shared much with Lee Iacocca's storied K-platform. K-based models such as the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon helped turn around Chrysler's fortunes in the early '80s. Likewise, the Caravan and Voyager were a huge success and provided the template for modern minivans including the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. The Pacifica and Grand Caravan 35th Anniversary Editions both come with an all-black interior featuring Cranberry Wine accent stitching on the seats, steering wheel, door trim, instrument panel bezels and door handles. There's also a 35th Anniversary logo on the floor mats plus badges on the grille and liftgate. The package is available on Pacifica Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited trims, including hybrid models. An optional S package (blacked out trim) can be added to any 35th anniversary Pacifica. The anniversary package can be added to Grand Caravan SE and SXT models. The anniversary package will be available sometime this summer.

Junkyard Gem: This 1987 Dodge 600 SE Sedan is suspiciously Benz-ish

Wed, Feb 28 2018

The K Platform, introduced for the 1981 model year, saved Chrysler from certain bankruptcy. By 1983, a stretched-out K chassis had been developed; the Chrysler version was the E-Class, while Dodge had the 600. These cars have become all but extinct now, so this '87 600 sedan in a Denver-area wrecking yard is a noteworthy Junkyard Gem. Ford explicitly compared the appearance of the late-1970s Granada to that of the Mercedes-Benz W123 in their advertising, and so the ground was broken for Chrysler to make the allusions to Stuttgart machinery even more obvious a few years later. The name of the Chrysler E-Class was about as subtle as a tire iron blow to the kidneys, and the badging on its Dodge 600 sibling left little to the imagination. 600s came from the factory with several variations of the Chrysler 2.2/2.5 engine, as well as the Mitsubishi "Hemi 2.6" four-cylinder. This car has the 2.5 Chrysler engine, rated at 97 horsepower. Base price was $10,553, about $23,500 in 2017 dollars (the cheapest new Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost $38,600 in 1987, so there wasn't much customer overlap between the two cars). The 600s weren't bad cars for the price, though the build quality wasn't quite up to Mercedes-Benz standards. You'll find this thumbtack treatment on most K-Car headliners that still drive today. The interior is all tan and brown, with plenty of tough industro-velour upholstery and not-so-convincing artificial wood. Aluminum-faced home audio equipment was all the rage during the 1980s, and the trend spread to automotive controls. No cassette in this car, but at least it had AM and FM radio (even plain old mono AM radios were still expensive options on many cars as late as 1987, so the standard AM/FM stereo rig in the 600 was an attractive deal).
