This truck is highly optioned with 727 automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, 318 V8, sliding 4 piece rear window, and Adventurer travel package (consisting of deluxe trim package, optional deluxe mirrors, and behind the seat fuel tank and dual under-bed mounted auxiliary fuel tanks, with 3-way valve). The body is VERY straight, all trim is perfect and complete, all glass is PERFECT with no chips or scratches or cracks or fogging, windows roll up and down nicely, doors CLICK shut, engine runs like a top, rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt radiator, transmission shifts firmly, brakes work well, steering is tight, all lights work, speedometer works nicely, dash pad is PERFECT, dash is clean and uncut, all gauges work properly, runs cool, and has lots of power. The V-8 has a brand new $400 MSD distributor and Flamethrower coil, with new big sparkplug wires. Factory jack under the hood. Inside, there is a nice sounding new Kenwood CD stereo, but the really good tunes come from outside, from the brand new hand built dual exhaust (built by local exhaust guru Shaun Cross) with 10 series mufflers and stainless steel tips. This is an ULTRA RARE Mopar truck, that has a long list of factory installed options. This is your chance to own a 70's muscle car, that you can pull a trailer with! You will NOT see another one like it. ....anywhere. If you want something different than the average C10 or F100, Mustang or Camaro, Challenger or Corvette, this might be the one for you. It is a true pleasure to drive, and there is never a shortage of looks and complements, each and EVERY time it hits the road! Get in and drive it home. A rare find, and it's only going up. It qualifies for antique license plate. Clean Texas title, in hand. This rod is NO rat! Offered for sale at $7500.

The Dodge Demon gets a Drag Mode and a lesson in Newtonian physics

Thu, Feb 23 2017

It's Thursday morning, which means we have more news on the upcoming Dodge Demon, the pumped-up Challenger Hellcat variant that's looking to cause mayhem at a drag strip near you. This week's video, "Third Law," shows the Demon's revised suspension in action and displays another one of SRT's cryptic messages. Dodge claims that the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 in the Hellcat twins is compromised because it's fitted to a car that needs to be comfortable on the street in addition to a performer on the drag strip. Not so with the Demon, as Dodge says the car is "designed to be highly competent in all drive modes and configurations," including the all-new Drag Mode. Dodge says details about the new mode will trickle out over the next few weeks, but all the info this week focused on suspension. The "Third Law" in this week's title refers to Isaac Newton and motion: "When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body." We're not sure what Newton would have thought seeing the sidewall wrinkling Nitto NT05R drag radials in action, but he'd probably have a reaction of some sort himself. An ideal suspension setup for the drag strip makes for a poor setup on the road. As Dodge puts it, the "old school" way to set up a drag car was to "get the quickest reacting springs upfront, the softest rebound front shocks that wouldn't restrict the springs' reaction, remove any restrictions (sway bar) and increase the compression of the rear shocks." This would give a car great front to rear weight transfer but made for very poor lateral direction control, meaning minor corrections were difficult. The Demon's Drag Mode will use electronics to give the car the best combination of launch and lateral stability. Dodge listed some of the parts to help aid in this goal. They also gave us a few equations that we can't make sense of. Let us know if you have any clues. Hardware: 35 percent lower rate front springs/28 percent lower rate rear springs 75 percent lower rate hollow front sway bar/44 percent lower rate rear sway bar Drag-tuned Bilstein Adaptive Damping Shocks Software: Rear = F/F and Front = F/S F/F – F/S maintained @ wide open throttle (WOT) F/F – F/F < WOT Traction control disabled/ESC maintained Result: 13.5=575@500 Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody | First Run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Mon, Jul 17 2017

In addition to driving the Dodge Demon, we also had a chance to sample the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody last week. We drove it on the famed infield road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We're not at liberty to give you our impressions just yet, but you can experience the sights and sounds of the 707-horsepower Hellcat Widebody in the above video. Thanks for watching. Check back on Wednesday, July 19, to read about the experience.

Driving the Jeep J6, Shakedown Challenger and other Mopar concepts

Wed, Sep 11 2019

Mopar has been a one-stop-shop for factory-backed performance modifications and accessories on FCA products for a long time now. You want a 707-horsepower engine for your old Plymouth Belvedere? Mopar has you covered with the Hellcrate. Maybe you want a lift and off-roading lights on that newly-bought Wrangler? Mopar can accommodate those wants (or needs, we don’t judge) as well. We get to see some of the companyÂ’s weirdest creations every now and then, but rarely do we get the opportunity to drive the FCA Mopar concepts. ThatÂ’s what made this past Woodward Dream Cruise so special: We got to rip some of MoparÂ’s finest and most recent creations up and down Woodward Avenue. Everything from a 1971 Challenger restomod to the brand-new Easter Jeep Safari J6 concept was in attendance, so letÂ’s get right to it. Mopar Woodward View 6 Photos 1967 Plymouth Hellvedere This car is near the pinnacle of what you can do with off-the-shelf Mopar purchases. It was only a humble 1967 Plymouth Belvedere before Mopar dropped the 707-horsepower supercharged V8 from the Hellcat into the engine bay. Sound ridiculous? Yeah, it is. Other parts of it are new as well, including the disc brakes. Good call. However, Mopar didnÂ’t remove the classic car charm from the entire driving experience. The steering, for example, is surely as slow and inaccurate as it was back in 1967. That doesnÂ’t help matters when youÂ’re trying to put 707 horsepower to the pavement with less-than-ideal rear rubber. Floor it in damn near any gear of the Tremec six-speed, and the front end rises straight up as the rear kicks sideways with the force of many mules. There are no electronics such as traction control or stability control to step in and wrangle the car into submission. But hey, who wants them, anyway? The question remains: Should you buy a Hellcrate engine for your classic? If money were no object, the easy answer is yes. Have at it so long as you love smoky burnouts and excessive amounts of horsepower. Just make sure you know how to deal with that much power before you stick your right foot in it.   Dodge Challenger Shakedown View 15 Photos 2016 Dodge Shakedown Challenger Concept WeÂ’re going downhill in horsepower with this restomod, but the drivability and ease of driving goes way up. Dodge showed this “Shakedown” concept at SEMA awhile back, and as with most concept cars, getting a chance behind the wheel is a special opportunity.
