What we have for sale today is a rare piece of American Iron that was not considered part of the muscle car era, but really should be. This year is the only year that the Dart was a "B" body. I am selling this car for one of my customers. We performed quite a bit of work on the car but did not do the initial restoration. We are "KC's Classic Cars" in Bradenton, Florida and the restoration was done by "Mopars by Crane" in Bradenton, Florida in 2004. I have all of the restoration paperwork and our work orders over the years. There were 1962 Dodge's built with the 413 Max Wedge in the 2 door hardtop version and we think there may be one version in a convertible showing in a museum, from what the owner was told. He wanted to replicate that car and he achieved it with great success. I have lots of photos on our Facebook page: "KC's Classics" and please feel free to call us at any time (941-747-1800) or e-mail (buildkc@aol.com) to ask us any questions about the Dart. Mike (the owner) keeps her at our shop and cannot drive the car any longer. I could photo/video anything in question. I have tried to show any blemish in the paint. The hood does have a crack (1 inch long) in the paint (see photo) from where I think someone closed the hood on something. That looks like the only flaw that I see. All of the chrome looks good, with exception of the rear bumper (see photo) part of the chrome has rubbed through, and the rest of the chrome on the car just needs to be waxed. The other item is that the gas gauge does not work. The sending unit works fine (we checked it out). The gauge itself is not working. Everything else works, including the power top.

The specs on the engine, transmission, etc. is as follows:

1) 440 ci .030 = 446 ci
2) Forged steel crank 10/10
3) Cam-Hughes HEH4650BL, lobe lift .379 int, .384 exh, valve lift .606 int,       .614 exh, duration 246 deg int, 250 deg exh @.050

5) Pistons- TRW Speed Pro Forged # 2355F .030, Rings- Seal Power             E424K .030, all balanced internally
6) 435 Stock Rods- reconditioned

30) BFG T/A 275/50/15 rears
31) BFG T/A 225/60/15 fronts
32) Interior was all restored with added gauges

When Mike originally bought the Dart, it had 30,596 miles on it and was told they were correct. There was very little rust on the car that had to be addressed (floor pans).

So bid with confidence for an awesome piece of Americana and go cruising with the top down and trust me, when you open the hood at the car shows, jaws will drop when they see what is in there. Even when driving down the road I am constantly asked what year and make the car is. That's how rare they are! Gas mileage is not bad when cruising along on the highway! But this is not a daily driver, is it?

There is no warranty implied by us, KC's Classic Cars (we are not a dealer). We restore classic cars. We are helping our customer with the process. Check us out at kcsclassiccars.com. You are responsible for the pick up and delivery of the car. Please ask questions if you have any.

This is an auction and I will have a reserve. Please don't ask what the reserve is! This is a legal and binding auction, if you don't have the funds to bid, please don't waste anybody's time, especially mine. At the end of the auction the winning bidder will have 48 hours to put $500 into my Pay Pal account and the make arrangements to pay the balance and pick up the car. Thank you for bidding!

What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?

Sat, Jun 15 2024

It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.

Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.

Are you the Dodge Dart SRT4?

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

Dodge has just confirmed that it will be bringing its newest Dart variant, the Dart GT, to Detroit next week, but we're still in the dark about when we'll see a truly hotted-up SRT4 version. But now, by way of the rumormill anyway, we've got at least one proposed, potentially Dodge-based rendering to light our way.
Seen here is what would appear to be a design sketch of the SRT4 Dart. Obviously the image that has surfaced is of rather low-resolution, but there's at least some evidence to support that it may be legitimate. In the original picture, one can just make out the name Tim Doyle in the lower right corner. As it turns out, Tim Doyle's name is also watermarked on the final design image for the 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel Black & Tan, a model that was shown at SEMA in 2010.
Of course, even if this really is the work of Doyle, there's nothing to say that this image isn't one of a great many potential looks for the future SRT4. In fact, the departure of the cross-hair grille from the Dodge's nose seems like it could be a hard sell, though we do, naturally, dig the sleek hood scoop and the bulked up wheel/tire combination.
