Need a car for a gangster movie? How about a photo shoot? This car would be perfect! If you are looking for a head turner this is your car. Be prepared for all sorts of people to stop you and ask you about this car. If you are prone to speeding tickets you may need to check your lead foot, this thing MOVES and will not hesitate to burn rubber when you slam on the gas every time. You MOPAR people need this in your collection because I doubt you have one.

You are looking at a 1973 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop 440 V-8 full-size luxury super rare car! This is one of the only 9190 produced and this is the ONLY 2 door for sale on the internet, go ahead and look for another one. 56,722 ORIGINAL MILES!

This thing is HUGE; its 18 1/2 feet long, that is 5 inches longer than the 1959 Cadillac! It’s ranked #6 on Jalopnik.com Ten Great Land Yachts! You don’t drive this car you sail it with a 440-cubic inch big block engine, that’s 7.2 liters for you kids out there. The curb weight is 4449 lbs. and has a MASSIVE trunk. It has as a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and air cleaner. This thing is scary fast and mean. Why is this car rare? Maybe the famous oil crisis of 1973 was to blame? With the 23 gal gas tank and not so great fuel economy maybe no one wanted to wait in those lines for gas. I have been looking for over 8 months and have not seen another one for sale ANYWHERE, there are a lot of 4 doors out there but no 2 doors for sale at all. This is truly one of the last great American luxury cars. There are ashtrays AND cigarette lighters for each seat, a total of 4!  Has the original "Chronometer" digital clock. American muscle and luxury wrapped into one.

NO significant RUST, dents or scratches. This is one of the only 9190 produced and this is the ONLY 2 door for sale on the internet go ahead and look for another. Great car, the engine and transmission have been completely professionally rebuilt.

Tons of NEW parts! New Vinyl top! New Exhaust, gas & break lines, gas tank, brakes, drums/rotors, hoses, wires, plugs distributor cap all NEW, it has been undercoated also.  2003 Chrysler New Yorker 18’’ rims on new tires. It can take up to 26’ rims and tires without modifications is what I was told.

Complete new interior, all new carpet in trunk. It is also pre-wired for rear trunk speaker system from front to back trunk, 2 sets of RCA lines, heavy gauge power cable to battery and speaker wire.

I really don’t need to sell this car and the reason I am is to make some money to put towards a 61 Cadillac DeVille convertible that I have always wanted. The more I drive this car the more I second guess selling it but the wife said if I want the caddy it has to go.  Clean Ohio title! If you want more pics please ask!

Specs are listed from Chrysler as: RWD (rear-wheel drive) and automatic 3-speed gearbox. (gasoline) engine of 7206 cm3 / 439.7 cui displacement with advertised power 160.5 kW / 215 hp / 218 PS ( SAE net ) / 3600 and 468 Nm / 345 lb-ft / 2000 of torque. Dimensions: outside length is 230.8 in, it’s 79.4 in wide and has wheelbase of 124 in. The value of a drag coefficient, estimated by a-c, is Cd = 0.55. Official base curb weight 4449 lbs. How fast is that car? Performance: top speed 190 km/h (118 mph) (theoretical) –I think it’s faster than that; accelerations 0- 60 mph 10.6 s; 0- 100 km/h 11.3 s (a-c simulation); 1/4 mile drag time (402 m) 17.8 s (a-c simulation)

Fiat and UAW back at negotiating table over Chrysler stake

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

We knew there'd be no Chrysler IPO before the end of this year, but Fiat is determined to get the best run going into 2014 and is back at the poker table with the UAW. The delay was said to be Chrysler's desire to clean up a tax issue with the IRS; turns out that also bought the carmaker time to try and close a deal for the UAW's 48.5-percent stake in the company before the IPO happens.
Whereas the price Chrysler was willing to pay was once more than $1 billion under the UAW's asking price, the gap has closed to just $800 million of late. A recent valuation of the company at $10 billion - a valuation the UAW has disputed - means Fiat would be looking to pay about $4.2 billion instead of the $5 billion that the UAW seeks. But the UAW needs to hold out for the highest amount it can get because its pension obligations through the Voluntary Employee Benefit Association (VEBA) are $3.1 billion greater than the VEBA's assets, which include the Chrysler stake.
There's a clause in the agreement that Fiat can buy the VEBA shares for $6 billion, but Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has said that the UAW "should buy a ticket for the lottery" if they even want $5 billion. The UAW, though, has more time to wait; it's Fiat that wants access to Chrysler's $11.9-billion war chest and that would like to avoid the risk of paying the full $6 billion for the UAW share if the float really takes off. With other valuations of Chrysler as high as $19 billion, a hot IPO could make that $6 billion look like a bargain.

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

Bob Lutz, UAW rep commend Chrysler for not bowing to NHTSA recall pressure [w/poll]

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Bob Lutz, the well-known executive with a range of automakers including both General Motors and Chrysler, says he supports Chrysler for not caving under federal pressure to issue a recall on 2.7 million Jeep vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is arguing that the plastic fuel tanks positioned behind the axles of certain 1993-2004 Grand Cherokee models and 2002-2007 Liberty models may become punctured in a collision and potentially catch fire, so it has called upon Chrysler to recall the vehicles. 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been attributed to the issue. For its part, Chrysler has maintained that its models "met and exceeded" all safety applicable mandates when they were manufactured, and furthermore, they argue that the government agency's own data proves that the vehicles are no more dangerous than similar SUVs produced by other automakers at the time. As a result, it is taking the unusual step of refusing to recall the vehicles.
According to The Detroit News, Lutz says Chrysler is right to push back when the government is out of line. Lutz also said that he wished he could have done the same when NHTSA urged Chrysler to issue a recall on certain minivans back when he was with the automaker 25 years ago.
Meanwhile, United Auto Workers Vice President General Holiefield also defended Chrysler by saying, "Our legendary Jeeps are crafted with pride by our dedicated UAW American workforce who work tirelessly to ensure the utmost quality of each Jeep that is produced for customers."
