1980 Chevy Silverado BIG 10 Pickup barn find restored to daily driver quality. The BIG 10 is a limited production truck and somewhat rare. It is actually a 5/8 ton truck. It is a heavier duty truck. Has cold factory air conditioning. I bought the truck a couple of years ago from an old man that was in the middle of restoring and the truck had just been painted ( the paint job was good, not show quality) but a daily driver paint job. It has a scrape or 2. Here are the items that I replaced. · Kenwood CD player with audio jack and USB memory stick port, and new Pioneer speakers · Had a new Fuel crossover switch solenoid installed for the dual factory Fuel Tanks. Replaced all fuel lines. · Rebuilt 350 V8 with a mild cam was installed. · Rebuilt Turbo 350 trans with a shift kit. · All new hoses, belts, radiator, water pump and fuel pump. · Installed a complete (from Exhaust manifolds to Chrome tips) custom Dyna Flow Dual exhaust system. · I had the rear end rebuilt and geared to 373 positraction 12 bolt rear end. · New period correct Chrome mod Wheels. · The interior is nice, seat and headliner were redone. Carpet OK · I installed new Door panels, new rear slider window. · I also had the bed sprayed with a high quality wolf liner because who ever painted the bed did a horrible job. · The rear bumper use to be one of those big semi bumpers, and I replaced it with a new OEM style Chrome step bumber. · I also had a HD trailer hitch (10,000 LB cap) put on to tow a small 5 X 8 trailer on occasions. There is a little rust on the lower drivers side rocker panel. Normal for these trucks. This truck is solid. This truck is fun to drive. I would trust is to go anywhere. My reason to sell is because my daughter has a brain tumor and I need money more than the truck at this time. That doesn't mean I am desperate, however I know the market and am willing to listen to a fair offer. Buyer will be responsible For shipping, and all necessary efforts to register and smog. I don't text so Any Questions Or to make a REASONABLE offer please call me at my Cell 951-847-0124 ... If we reach an agreement on price I will remove the reserve and change it from auction to a sell price to complete the deal... Please if you have less than 10 ebay transactions, call me before you bid….. This truck is FOR SALE locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time....

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles
Tue, Mar 8 2022Americans drive a lot. Collectively, we put, on average, more than 13,000 miles on our cars each year according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Because of this, a vehicle's ability to travel long distances without major problems is a huge consideration when it comes time to purchase a new one. It's also worth remembering that keeping an older car on the road instead of trashing it and buying new can be considered an eco-friendly decision. After all, it takes a lot of resources to build a car. iSeeCars.com, a website that aggregates used car listings from all around the country, recently ran through the numbers on millions of vehicles that are currently on the road to determine which last the longest. Alternatively, you could choose to look at this list as vehicles likely to be driven by owners who travel long distances. Either way, we've laid out the top 15 vehicles most likely to hit or even surpass the 200,000-mile mark. It's important to note that while these are the vehicles that have stood the test of time up until today, we can't guarantee future results if you decide to opt for one of these from a current model year. That said, unless we specifically say so in the text below, we've used pictures of current models for illustrative purposes. Now, with all of that out of the way, scroll on down for the top 15 vehicles most likely to crest 200,000 miles. 15: Toyota Sienna 14: Honda Odyssey The 15th spot and 14th spot on the list of the top 15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles are both minivans. Spoiler alert: They will be the only two minivans on the list. According to iSeeCars, 3.2% of both of these family haulers crest the 200,000-mile mark, making them the best bets for families looking to put a ton of miles on their machines. 13: Honda Ridgeline 12: GMC Yukon The next spot on the list is occupied by the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with 3.7% lasting past 200,000 miles. Unlike any of the other midsize trucks it competes with, the Ridgeline is based on a unibody chassis. Opting for this more car-like structure — as opposed to a traditional body-on-frame layout — allows Honda's hauler to ride and drive more like a car. Up next is the GMC Yukon, also with 3.7% past the 200K mark, and the first, but very much not the last, big traditional SUV you'll see on the list. In fact, get ready to see a whole bunch of 'em, including several from GMC parent General Motors.
