Chevrolet Nova High Quality Build Fuel Injection Reasonable Rides and Rods presents this 1972
Chevrolet Nova for your consideration. This
Nova is a high quality restored/custom car that needs nothing and can be driven
and enjoyed now. Paint/Body/Trim Painted in Silver-Blue Metallic, the paint
presentation of this Nova is outstanding.
Already a very solid car, it was stripped down to bare metal and
painted. This is a high quality paint
job and all of the gaps are done well. The
firewall, floor pans, drop offs and trunk are in excellent condition. All glass and trim are new and in excellent condition.
All new weatherstrip was installed
throughout the car when it was painted. Interior The interior is a combination of stock and
aftermarket components. The front seats
are new Procar Rally and the rear seat has been covered with the same
material. The custom rear package tray
utilizes the same material. The steering
wheel is a Billet Specialties Street Lite attached to the custom tilt column. A custom console was created and houses the gauges and a B&M Mega
Shifter. The stereo is a Retro 2 knob with
MP3 capability. The carpet, dash,
door panels, and headliner are in great shape.
The fuel injection handheld computer is located in the glove box. The interior of this car is extremely nice
and adds a lot to the presentation. Engine/Transmission/Rear
End The engine is a four bolt main 350 bored .030 over with a steel crank, 10:1
SRP forged pistons, Competition Cam, Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock Air
Gap Intake, MSD 6 Ignition, billet accessories, and MSD Atomic EFI. The engine has less than 200 miles since the
build and performs flawlessly. The fuel
injection ensures that this car starts every time and is extremely
responsive. As you can see in the
pictures, the entire fuel system is built for the fuel injection. The fuel tank and pump system is done
correctly to support the fuel injection. It is dressed with all of the Edelbrock engine
components for a nice presentation. The
engine is estimated to produce 400 hp. The
exhaust has Hooker long tube headers and is a full length stainless system with
Flowmaster mufflers. A four core
aluminum radiator and dual electric fans keeps this little Nova running
cool. The transmission is a built Turbo
350 Automatic with a 2500 stall converter. The
transmission was built at the same time as the engine. The rear end is a GM 10 bolt with an Auburn
posi unit and 3.73 gears, and a Trick Flow cover. Suspension/Brakes/Tires/Wheels The suspension and steering components are all
new. The steering has a manual gear box,
but has been upgraded to a quick ratio box.
The stock control arms were retained, but all bushings are poly
urethane. A set of Competition Engineering subframe connectors
were added to handle the power. All new Right Stuff 4 wheel disc brakes were installed with slotted and cross-drilled
rotors. A new chrome booster, master
cylinder, and proportion valve complete the brake system. The
car rides on new SLG Series Billet Specialties Wheels and Nitto NT555 235/40-18
front and 245/40-18 rear tires. The car
drives and steers better than new. Overall This Nova has been built right. Everything works on the car and it is fast,
reliable, and enjoyable to drive. With
the fuel injection set up, you could use it as a daily driver, or a weekend
cruiser/show car. This is a totally
solid car and a very high quality build with over $40k spent on paint, engine, trans, suspension, interior, wheels/tires, ect.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part three
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and has an associates degree in dropping f-bombs. For Part One, click here. Part Two is here. Really hoped I'd be able to grab an hour or two of sleep before the sun rose over Le Mans. Dark dark dark, couldn't figure out what was going on. Commentators struggled at times as well. But I couldn't do it. Endurance racing is just too exciting. Grabs my attention with both fists. Screams, "watch these men DRIVE!" A neighbor invited me over for drinks. Told him, "Can't do it, gotta watch Le Mans!" Maybe not exactly. I'll admit, at times my attention wandered. I did a load of laundry. Ate some snacks. Half listened to the commentary. Threw a hump at my wife. I learned that Patrick Long, driving #88, is big brother to Kevin "Spanky" Long. Spanky's a bit of a legend in the skate world. Always weird how top notch talent can run in families like that. Kind of surprised I've never heard that before. Worked for a skate mag for a years, met Spanky a handful of times. Someone must've told me that he has an older brother who drives race cars. Dash cams at night are scary. High powered headlights in the P1s reach almost 300 meters. Cars outrun that distance easy. Seems like they're just steering into the black and hoping for the best. But that can't be the case. People'd be dropping dead let and right. Very amused by how the guys in GT are like, "Dude, stop flashing your fucking lights before you pass." But the LMP's are all, "Suck a dick! I do what I want." Top three stayed neck and neck nearly all night long. As the sun gets ready to creep back over the horizon the top three are separated by only eleven and a half seconds. Toyota 5 and 6, Porsche 2. Audi 8 is two laps behind Porsche, beleaguered 7 is dealing with constant trouble eleven laps from the front. GTE Pro sees Ferrari 82 in first, Ford 68 and 69 right behind. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect. Fours cars retired so far. I'm beginning to appreciate the endurance aspect a little more fully. Only really considered the drivers at first. The mental and physical stress driving these cars at these speeds at length would inflict. But keeping the damn things running is the real deal. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Cadillac CT6 production ceases January 2020 as part of D-Ham layoffs
Fri, Dec 6 2019General Motors filed paperwork under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity this week, detailing events to come at the automaker's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Starting February 28, 814 salaried and hourly workers at D-Ham, as its called, will be laid off. The 753 workers represented by the UAW will begin receiving offers in January to relocate to facilities in Michigan and Ohio, or buyout offers. As the 4-million-square-foot plant winds down through April 3 to a skeleton crew, the Cadillac CT6 ceases production in January 2020, and the last Chevrolet Impala comes off the line on February 28. The loss of the CT6 represents the end of Cadillac's latest brief, and highly regarded, adventure into flagship sedans. It might also mean the end of the 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine, at least for the moment. Both casualties are calamities. The death of the Impala closes the door on a nameplate in production for 52 years since 1957, having started off as a top-tier trim for the 1958 Bel Air known as the Bel Air Impala, once advertised with the line, "Lets you know you're the boss." As part of the new four-year labor agreement with the UAW, GM is keeping D-Ham open to build a new line of battery-electric vehicles, ultimately investing $3 billion and tripling employment to 2,225 workers when fully operational. The agreement described the coming EV as a "van" that would commence production in late 2021, but various reports say what's actually coming is a range of premium EVs in pickup and SUV bodystyles under the program codename BT1. The easy predictions put an electric GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade among the EV fold, but not until 2023, according to auto industry forecaster LMC Automotive. Before that, LMC claims an electric van will debut in late 2021, along with a battery-powered rebirth of the Hummer brand in pickup and SUV forms, also in late 2021.
