OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME ~ Must e-mail me with your contact information First!~ WE HAVE SHIPPED MANY CLASSICS OVERSEAS.

HELLO,

YOUR LOOKING AT A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL BARN FIND, A STRAIGHT 1959 CHEVROLET KINGSWOOD STATION WAGON. I AM SELLING THIS '59 FOR A FRIEND, THE OWNER WANTS TO SELL NOW. (please don't bid if your not a serious buyer)  I CAN NOT RESTORE THIS '59 AS HE HOPED BECAUSE I HAVE THREE 59'S IN FRONT OF IT AND THE OWNER CAN NOT WAIT ANY LONGER TO DO SOMETHING WITH THIS ONE.

AS THE STORY GOES, THIS CAR WAS RESCUED FROM A FARM BACK IN KANSAS IN 2004. THE CAR LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN RETIRED IN THE LATE 60's WITH OIL TAGS SHOWING SOME MILEAGE HISTORY. ( SHOWING 87,181 NOW ~ TITLE SHOWS 87,000! ) SO IT HAS SAT FOR A GOOD 40 YEARS BEFORE THE CLEAN UP. IT IS A NEAT TIME CAPSULE AS IT SITS. THE CAR THEN SAT IN STORAGE FOR YEARS WAITING FOR A TOTAL RESTORATION TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD EVER SINCE. THIS CAR IS A OVERALL VERY STRAIGHT, ORIGINAL, MAINLY A UNRESTORED CAR, SCREAMING FOR A TOTAL RESTORATION, OR JUST TO LEAVE IT "AS IS" A ORIGINAL CAR WITH THE PATINA PAINT CLASSIC.

THIS IS A ORIGINAL UNALTERED CAR, OR NOT A PIECED TOGETHER FROM 5 CARS '59 KINGSWOOD, WHICH ARE GETTING VERY - VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS TYPE OF OVERALL UNALTERED ORIGINAL CONDITION.  KEPT INSIDE AT A SECURE HEATED FACILITY WITH OTHER CLASSIC CARS IN A COLLECTION. THE OLD OWNER STARTED A RESTORATION IN 2004 WITH SOME DISASSEMBLY OF THE INTERIOR AND MAIN DASH COMPONETS, A TOTAL RESTORATION WAS PLANNED THEN AND THEN HE STOPPED, DUE TO OWNERS CHANGE OF MIND IN BUYING ANOTHER CLASSIC CAR.

THE OWNER DECIDING TO NOW SELL IT AS OF APRIL 2014, ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS WERE THEN CLEANED AND PUT BACK IN PLACE BY THE OWNER, SO THE RESTORATION WILL BE A EASY ONE, IF THAT IS YOUR GOAL, OR YOU GET A VERY CLEAN GENERALLY UNRESTORED CAR WITH MOST ALL THE PATINIA STILL SHOWING, WHICH IS VERY COOL!  THE JAMS AND ALL SEAMS ARE CLEAN AND NICE ORIGINAL PAINT COLORS INSIDE AND OUT. THE MAIN BODY PAINT HAD A RE-PAINT WAY BACK IN THE EARLY SIXTIES AND THE PATINA HAS TAKEN PLACE SINCE THEN. SOME FADE MIST TOUCH UP TO THE BARE SPOTS HAS NOW BEEN DONE FOR PROTECTION OF BARE METAL, BUT THE OVERALL CAR IS CLEAN AND NEVER BEEN TRULY RESTORED, ONLY CLEANED AND DETAILED.

THE ONLY SPOTS THAT HAVE BEEN REPAIRED "IN THE PAST" ARE THE LOWER REAR QUARTERS AND A FEW DINGS HERE AND THERE, WHICH HAD SOME SCRATCH & DING DAMAGE AND RESPOTED IN. HAS SOME PIN HOLES AND SOME FEATHER BONDO AREAS WITH OLD PAINT SPOTED OVER. INSPECTION SHOWS NO BAD ACCIDENT DAMAGE, OR REPLACEMENT METAL WORK, JUST FEATHER BONDO REPAIR FOR SOME DINGS AND SOME POUND OUTS WITH SOME DENTS AS SHOWN.

OVERALL THE CAR IS A VERY SOLID '59 ESPECIALLY IN THE MOST ALL CRITICAL 59 SPOTS.  THE ONLY REAL "RUST OUTS" NOW ARE IN THE "LOWER ONLY" FLAT FLOOR PANS, ON ALL 4 MAIN PANS, ONLY AT THE LOWEST POINTS- AS SHOWN IN PICTURES. (PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS!) THE FLOOR SPOTS ARE A VERY EASY FIX FOR A RESTORATION SHOP, AS NO BODY SUPPORTS OR FRAME SUPPORTS ARE NEEDED, JUST LOWER PRE-STAMPED PANS DROPPED IN THERE. WE LEFT THIS AS IS TO SHOW THE ORIGINAL CONDITION TO THE NEW OWNER. THE UPPER, INNER, OUTER, ROCKERS AND FLOOR SEAMS, ARE ALL SOLID AND BEAUTIFUL CLEAN & RUST FREE. THERE IS A LITTLE RUST IN THE UPPER REAR ROOF DRAIN DRIP RAIL, INNER BEHIND MOLDING, AND HAS BEEN NOTED. THE TOP OF THE CAR HAD NO PAINT AT ALL LEFT, ALL SUN BAKED, SO A WHITE SEALER PROTECTION FOR THE BARE METAL WAS APPLIED USING POR-40 WHITE OMNI SEALER (SAME AS THE ORIGINAL COLOR), GOOD STUFF WITH A SATIN FINISH SEALER.

FRONT FENDERS ARE GREAT AND HEADLIGHT LIGHT LOWERS ARE SOLID. HEADLIGHTS WERE DISSASSEMBLED AND NEW REBUILD KIT INSTALLED FOR PROPER GLASS LENSES AIMING. 3 ORIGINAL HEADLIGHT T-3's ARE STILL THERE! REAR TAIL LIGHTS ARE GUIDE 59 ORIGINALS ALSO.

PLEASE NOTE: WHAT DO YOU WANT?

THE CAR CAME WITH A 283 V8 (code is from a 1964 Chevelle SS) & a late AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THAT IS NOT RUNNING AND OUT OF THE CAR CURRENTLY. THE WORD WAS IT WAS RUNNING WHEN PARKED, 1969?, IT DOES NOT TURN OVER NOW - STUCK FROM SITTING. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS A LATE AUTOMATIC REBUILT IN MID 80'S, MILES? AS old PAPERWORK IN GLOVE BOX SHOWS?. THIS MOTOR AND TRANS WILL ALL NEED GONE THREW IF YOUR GOING TO USE THEM, WE CAN SET THEM IN THERE FOR TRANSPORT IF YOU WANT THEM?. OR TAKE THE CAR, "AS IS" NOW, WITH NO ENGINE OR TRANNY IN IT.  THEN YOU CAN DROP IN A '59 BIG BLOCK 348 IN THIS WAGON TO MAKE IT A HIGHER DOLLAR ORIGINAL V8 '59! AS IT IS, IT IS FACTORY CODED A V8 KINGSWOOD WAGON.  PLEASE, LET US KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO, TAKE WITH THE OLD MOTOR, OR NO MOTOR?

ALSO PLEASE NOTE! HE HAS AVAILIBLE A 283 V8 POWERGLIDE AUTOMATIC COMPLETLY REBUILT FOR $2,000 SEPERATE, IF YOU WANT THAT OPTION ALSO, CAN SET IN PLACE ONLY?

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, HAS VERY STRAIGHT LINES AND NO MAJOR DAMAGE OR BAD 1" THICK BONDO FOUND ANYWHERE. AGAIN, THERE IS SOME MINOR BODY WORK THAT WAS DONE WAY BACK ON THE LOWER REAR 1/4 PASSENGER SIDE, BUT FROM LOOKING INSIDE WHEEL WELL AND SPARE TIRE WELL, THE METAL LOOKS STRAIGHT, AND MUST HAVE ONLY BEEN SLIGHT SCRATCH DING TYPE DAMAGE REPAIR. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED ONCE WAY BACK, AND THE PATINA IS NOW SHOWING THREW IN SPOTS AFTER SITTING SINCE THE LATE 60'S. AGAIN, THE OWNER DID NOT RESTORE THE CAR AND DECIDED TO JUST CLEAN AND RE-ASSEMBLE THE CAR.

THE FRONT END HAS A FANTASTIC ORIGINAL GRILL AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END IS SUPER STRAIGHT & CLEAN.

THE ORIGINAL STEEL CHEVROLET 1959 CORRECT NIB STEEL WHEELS ARE THE ONLY REAL RESTORED PARTS, THEY HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALY BLASTED AND PAINTED, BLACK ON THE BACK SIDE AND BLUE  ON THE FRONTS. WHITEWALLS ARE SEARS F-78-14" TIRES BIAS PLYS. OK SHAPE GOOD TREAD, NICE LOOKS, BUT OLD 80's?. THE DOORS ALL OPEN & CLOSE NICE, ALL WINDOWS OPERATE GOOD, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IS ORIGINAL, NOT CRACKS OT BULLSEYES!!! THE SIDE GLASS IS ALL ORIGINAL CODED EZ-EYE, BUT FOR THE DRIVERS REAR DOOR AND WING WINDOWS. THE DASH COMPONENTS CANNOT BE TESTED BUT LOOK CLEAN, AS THE MAIN DASH WIRE HARNESS IS IN A BOX. YOU WOULD NEED TO PLUG THIS BACK IN AND REPAIR ANY NEEDED WIRES OR INSTALL A NEW HARNESS. THESE ARE REPRODUCED. DOOR PANELS WERE REINSTALLED TO SHOW CONDITION AND ALSO THE TOP METAL CAPS ARE NICE IF YOUR GETTING NEW DOOR PANELS THE REST OF THE PANEL WERE IT WAS WATER WARPED WAS REMOVED. THE DOOR UNDERSIDES ARE AS NEW FROM FACTORY CLEAN AND ORIGINAL AS SHOWN. HANDLES AND ARM REST ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH ALL SPRINGS AND PLASTIC LINERS IN PLACE.

NOTE: THE REAR POWER WINDOW WORKS WITH A BATTERY WIRED DIRECTLY TO IT, AS THE REAR WINDOW WIRE HARNESS PLUG IS OUTSIDE THE TAILGATE FOR THIS OPERATION ATTACHMENT, BY-PASSING THE MAIN HARNESS PLUG. WINDOW GOES UP AND DOWN NICE. WINDOW MUST BE  DOWN TO LOWER THE TAIL GATE.

AGAIN: MOTOR & TRANNY WERE TAKEN OUT AND CAN BE SET BACK IN FOR TRANSPORTATION, NOT HOOKED UP, THEN EASY TO REMOVE IF NEEDED. FRONT END STEERING IS OK, COULUMN IS NICE, TIGHT, BUT NOTE YOU WILL NEED UPPER AND LOWER A-ARMS BUSHINGS! ALSO FRONT END BALL JOINTS WOULD BE MY GUESS.

THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKS GOOD TO STOP THE CAR!

WAGONS ARE BECOMING STRONG INVESTMENTS, SO PUT IT AWAY, OR RESTORE TO SHOW, OR KEEP AS IS AND HAVE FUN!

PLEASE ASK IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ON ANYTHING! A NICE ORIGINAL 59 WAGON THAT'S HARD TO FIND, AND IT'S 99% ALL THERE!

Some points of interest to answer some questions people have had:

  • The '59 has a free and clear Kansas Title signed off and ready, a current bill of sale will be provided with the title, talk to me after the close.

  • The '59 has original GM key and it fits the side door locks, and the original dash ignition switch fine, Ignition switch turns and feels great in all positions and will lock ingnition. Also fits the rear tail gate lock, to operate power rear window. wont operate glove box lock? its in open position though so its ok to access. thanks

  • The '59 has had one re-paint way back in the 60's and now has some paint misting touchups over bare surface metal areas for protection during the clean up. This is only to keep the car from surface rusting in other humid areas than Colorado where it is super dry and not needed here. Nothing is being hidden, and there are no thick tar cover-ups. The detailed close-up pictures speak for themselves, PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD FIRST.

  • The '59 can sit here for a short time while you arrange your shipping and we will help with loading it on this end. If your including and want to purchase the new 283 engine & tranny, or take the stuck used 283 engine & tranny (free), you have to let us know ASAP on what we are to do for you to set these in place for your transportation. The engines & trannys will not be hooked up, just set in place on the motor mounts. Otherwise the '59 will be delivered as a no-engine & no-tranny car, or delivered as just a roller only, has a good E-Brake!

  • Thanks

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Jaguar I-Pace vs. Tesla Model 3 and other EVs: How they compare on paper

Thu, Mar 1 2018

The 200-mile club of electric vehicles is really growing. The most recent member is the Jaguar I-Pace, the company's first pure EV. It promises luxury, performance, style, and most important, good range. Nearly as recent is the Hyundai Kona EV, and while it doesn't promise luxury or performance like the Jaguar (it's also smaller), it does pack impressive range. With the introduction of both of these electric cars, we thought we would see how they compare against each other, and the other two big names in high-capacity electric cars: the Chevy Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3. This isn't intended to be a direct, apples-to-apples comparison, as the four are quite different. If anything, they break into two groups: bigger and more luxurious, and smaller and less expensive. Then again, the number of vehicles with this electric range is small and comparisons to EV's with less range wouldn't be too kind to the other guys. If you want to learn more about these EVs, and compare them with other cars, be sure to check out our Car Finder and comparison tools. Horsepower and torque There is one clear winner here, and that's the Jaguar I-Pace. It packs a whopping 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque. That comes through a pair of electric motors (one at the front, another at the rear) that provide the Jag with all-wheel drive, the only one of these vehicles to offer it (at the moment). Altogether, it allows the I-Pace to have the best 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. At the other end of the spectrum is the Hyundai Kona EV. It's front-drive, like the Bolt EV, and has effectively the same amount of horsepower as the Chevy at 201 horsepower, but its 0-60-mph time is almost a second slower. And the low-range version of the Kona, excluded because it doesn't go more than 200 miles between charges, is slower still. The Tesla Model 3 is the only vehicle with rear-wheel drive, and with a 0-60 mph of 5.1 seconds for the Long Range model, it is still very quick. Range and energy use Frequently, the all-consuming question with electric cars is, "How far can I go on a charge?" And to go the farthest, you need the long-range Tesla Model 3. It can go 310 miles. It has the added advantage of being able to use the network of Tesla Supercharger stations, though they are pay-per-use with the Model 3. Even the lower capacity Model 3, with just 220 miles of range, can use these stations.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
