1975 Chevrolet Corvette (One Owner Vette ~ 19,718 Original Miles)
History: This corvette was ordered March 17th of 1975 from Merollis Chevrolet in Detroit Michigan, by my wife's
uncle. In 1978 my uncle was in an unfortunate accident and passed away. So, in 1978 my aunt had the title
transferred into her name therefor, the title is from 1978 and not 75. Majority of the miles were put on in the
first 3 years when my uncle drove it. My aunt drove it rarely but has kept up all maintenance and repairs over the
years (have records) and has taken good care it. She has kept this car for the last 41 years and is now ready to
part ways with it.
Body: The exterior is in good shape although it’s not perfect. The paint on the car is still the original paint
which left the factory it still looks pretty good for a 41 years old paint job. When bought new in 1975 my uncle
immediately had the white paint, cragars and side pipes added. The front and rear bumper have recently been
replaced due to cracking. Also, there are a couple spots were the paint has a little cracking. He also added
glass etching to both side windows and back window.
Note: The original Ralley wheels, center caps, and trim rings will come with the car, as will the original exhaust
manifolds and valve covers.
Documentation: Have all paper work with the car including the Retail Order Contract, Original Sale Contract,
Maintenance Records, old registrations and original owner’s manual.
Engine/ Trans: The engine/trans have never been rebuilt and are completely original. Numbers- Matching L-48 350
Engine; Manual 4 speed Trans all Original. Runs and Drives Excellent. Everything works minus the clock.
Interior: The interior is all original and is in excellent condition with NO rips or tears. AM/FM Radio works. The
clock has issues, only seems to work when it wants to.
Summary: This is a very nice original one Owner 1975 Corvette with low miles that you can get in and drive
anywhere. Though it is not a show car it still looks great. I have all original documentation from the car; Title
from 1978, Purchase agreement, maintenance records, Original Owner’s Manual
NOTE: I apologize for some of the pictures they are not the best quality. (The Sun was being difficult)
**Also, the little princess sitting on the hood in the pictures is my wife when she was 1 year old, that picture is
from November of 1979

CES 2022 was huge for EVs | Autoblog Podcast #711
Fri, Jan 7 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder. CES took place this week, and there were some nice electric surprises from automakers, especially General Motors. John has been driving the Ram 1500 Power Wagon, as well as what seems to be its polar opposite, the electric Mini Cooper SE. Greg talks about the differences between the Acura TLX A-Spec long-termer (which is back in the shop) and the Type S loaner that's filling in for it. John's also got some interesting thoughts on leather interiors. Finally, the editors reach into the mailbag and help a repeat customer decide on a suitable replacement for a 2008 Lexus GX 470 in this week's Spend My Money segment. Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Since 2010, Chevy Volt has outsold Nissan Leaf by just two units
Tue, Mar 3 2015The first two plug-in vehicles from major automakers in the US were the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. Ever since they went on sale to much fanfare in late 2010, we've been tracking the monthly sales with great interest (and, of course, other green vehicle sales as well). After a big initial lead by the Volt – the Volt outsold the Leaf 23,461 to 9,819 in 2012 – the Leaf has been chugging along and outsold the Volt every month since November 2013. We knew that the cumulative totals would soon tip in favor of the Leaf, but for at least one more month, the Volt is going to be able to say its the most popular plug-in vehicle in the US. Overall, for all officially reported sales of the Leaf and the Volt, things are almost exactly tied. Since the vehicles went on sale in the end of 2010 until the end of February 2015, the Volt has sold 74,592 units and the Leaf has sold ... drumroll please ... 74,590 units. For February, Leaf sales totaled 1,198 units, a 17-percent drop from the 1,425 Leafs sold last February. Brendan Jones, Nissan's director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure, said in a statement that, "Tough winter weather in several key markets held EV sales back in February. As we head into spring, we look forward to seeing more dealership traffic so shoppers can experience firsthand the benefits of the all-electric Nissan Leaf." Of course, it was cold in the US last February, too, but we're sure that the nasty weather did indeed play a role last month. Things were even worse for the Chevy Volt, which dropped to just 693 copies sold, down 47 percent from the 1,210 sold last year. That's just barely enough for Chevy to keep talking about its plug-in sales leadership, but we expect the message to change once the March numbers come out next month. Related Video:
